Don't Love Me
I feel her freeze and I'm worried I've hurt her. "What's wrong? Where do you hurt?" I ask in a panic, taking a step back to look her over.
She closes her legs and slips off the desk quietly and starts retrieving her clothes.
"Talk to me," I plead.
She quickly dresses and I throw my pants on so that I'm not naked for whatever is coming next.
She finally looks up at me and says, "You can't love me."
"It's impossible not to love you," I say, like it's the most obvious thing in the world.
