I muttered while he kept smiling at me. His smile made my heart beat faster. I looked away quickly, but my chest felt warm. I had always seen Mark as more than just a friend. My eyes slowly drifted back to him, and for a moment I imagined what it would feel like to be in his arms. “I won’t repeat myself twice, so pay attention,” the professor announced sharply. Ines exhales slowly. "Well, that is spectacularly inconvenient." I laugh despite myself. "You have no idea." "Oh, I do. I study tragic romance in literature. This is practically textbook." I groan. "Please don't compare my life to a doomed Victorian novel." "No promises." Her expression softens again. "Just be careful."

ACADIA'S POV It was as if I was floating in emptiness after getting out of the new professor’s office. “You. You are the one I have found to be with for the rest of my life. ” “You. In the following weeks, I started attending Professor Herford's classes. I always sit in the back because I don't have the courage to look the professor in the face. He reached over and grabbed the stack of papers. Her heart skipped a beat and she got a good whiff of his cologne. The both of them stared at each other, a form of heat expanding around them. It wasn't until the door opened that professor Thompson finally pulled away. "Well, Ms.Moore, thank you for lending a hand. I will see you next class and hopefully you're early next time." The man held out his hand and glanced at the person that stepped in. It's Mrs.Laime, she's a Spanish professor. "Oi dios mio. I'm sorry, I didn't know anyone was inside." She chuckles nervously.

He had no right to do that to me, but I would be in a steeper mess if it reaches Aaron's ears. And as if the universe has conspired against me, someone announced his presence. Feeling humourous, the professor called me out in front of the class and introduced me to him. His eyes narrowed at the professor, but the latter continues without restraints. “ Guess who we have here,” he says to him, and slithered his hand around my back. “ Meet the writer of the best love letter I have read so far.” He glances at me, and instinctively checks his phone.

Not from my pride. He nods, slow and deliberate. The room seems to hold its breath, charged with something I can’t name. I need to leave. Delilah was right: this man could be my downfall if I’m not careful. Crushing on a professor is a disaster waiting to happen. One mistake and I’m screwed. “Thank you again,” I say, pointing toward the card on his desk, keeping my tone professional. “I’ll make sure my profile is in your email before the next lesson.”
