A Bride for the Cripple

A Bride for the Cripple

A moment later, my phone buzzed. It was a text from Lex. [Your sister still hasn't picked out her dress. I'm taking her to another shop first. Wait at the corner. I'll come get you later.] I walked to the corner and waited… from noon until darkness swallowed the sky. The bridal shop had long since closed. My phone battery slowly drained away. Right before it died completely, I mindlessly opened my social media feed. At the top was a post Veronica had uploaded just moments ago. In the photo, she and Lex stood on the deck of a luxury yacht, wrapped in each other's arms.

The Bride Who Never Was

The Bride Who Never Was

However, there were no ‘ifs’ in life. The car crossed the Brooklyn Bridge. Through the rain and mist, the streetlights on the bridge flickered on one by one, stretching forward like a road leading somewhere.

The Mafia’s Regret

The Mafia’s Regret

EVERYTHING. They’d ask too many questions if we didn’t put it all out there. So Bridge and I and Layla sat them both down and told them the truth. About the mafia… about the rat … everything. They both cried a lot. But they wouldn’t say anything. I knew that. They’d come and seen her and brought flowers and balloons and cards. Bridge had stayed here for two days straight and I had to make her go home and rest. Soon as she left she came back ten minutes later with a huge stuffed reindeer. It’s sleeping in the bed with Emery now.

KITTY

KITTY

Such a beautiful bridge… Shall we go there? The humpbacked stone bridge appears to be very old, artfully illuminated by a pair of lanterns along the edges and framed by lush willows. Having reached its highest point, Keith leans against the wide railing, inhaling the air cool from the water, filled with the aroma of flowers and mud. Some insects chirp in the grass, and right under the bridge a fish splashes heavily, which they must have disturbed with their late walk. "Are you really a werewolf?" No kidding? Hank asks with a smile, looking at her profile.

The voss inheritance

The voss inheritance

"The bridge is submerged. It only rises for a Voss pulse." They left the van at the edge of the water. The air was silent. There were no crickets, no birds. It felt like the land itself was holding its breath. Lydia walked to the water’s edge. She felt the child move. It wasn't a pulse of fear this time. It was a pull. It was a recognition. "Do it, Lydia," Adrian said.

Enchanting the Prince

Enchanting the Prince

I think that is something I can focus on while I wait for Aolis. Hera is following our scent back the way we came, which means it doesn’t take us long to get to the troll bridge. If the bridge looked rickety before, now it looks like it’s one wrong move from falling into the river below. There’s no way that Hera and I can cross it.

This is definitely my favorite from all the guardian series. It’s so different and refreshing! The storyline is so well written. Although I did hope there were more scenes of Aolis and Lily together though, but it’s amazing and I even reread the book!

I just finished this book, and it was amazing. I loved all previous books a lot, but this was very different, made my heart warm ... Since Cara and Rik and Canyon Ridge Pack were my favourites, I am so happy to see Lily becoming so strong and One True Queen ...

Dark Luna Rising

Dark Luna Rising

She exhaled, shaking off her nerves, and moved forward cautiously. The hanging bridge loomed ahead, its rope-and-plank structure swaying gently in the breeze. Below, a rocky stream glinted in the dappled light, the water rushing noisily over jagged stones. Erika’s hands tightened around the rope railing as she stepped onto the first plank, testing its stability. The bridge creaked ominously but held firm.

My marriage was for money, his for vengeance

My marriage was for money, his for vengeance

--- 11:25 AM — D Sector, Palehook Crossing The bridge was not new—but new-acknowledged. A weaving of polyroot crossing that curved but did not snap underfoot. Kids crossed it unhesitantly. The elders crossed it slowly, some for the first time in years. Elira crossed it carefully, hand tracing the balustrade. Caelan, on the opposite side, shouted, "Still certain about your weight?" "I'm counting on the threads," she shouted back, "and on the hands that bound them."

To Bleed For You

To Bleed For You

No typing bubbles. Maya felt an instinctual restlessness, a persistent anxiety she couldn't dismiss. She needed to escape the heavy, velvet-draped, suffocating atmosphere of the house. Putting on her jacket, she drove to the old, rusted railway bridge on the town's edge—neutral ground. It was the same place where she and Thalia used to sneak out as kids, sharing cheap snacks and dreaming about the future before the supernatural world fully consumed them.
