Her cuteness made his smile returned and he went to help the old lady preparing the next order. In front of the parlor, the crowds clapped their hands and laughed. They were very entertained Jai’s story about the orphanage children in the mausoleum. Not only that, he also told them a fairy tale from his previous world, the one with the glass shoes and fairy godmother, and everyone seemed very interested. Of course, he told these stories while showing them a bit of his sparks in certain anecdotes. This was to surprise them and get their interest to stay, and they were, they did.

"At least it makes for a funny story now." She told them more. About the time she accidentally delivered someone's lunch order to the wrong building and ended up eating it herself because she could not find the right address. About the customer who tipped her with a singing bass mounted on a plaque because he had no cash. About the day she rode her bike through a parade route without realizing it and ended up being photographed by tourists who thought she was part of the show. The room filled with laughter. Real, genuine laughter. The kind that made your stomach hurt and your face ache.

“And how exactly do you plan to make me laugh?” He grinned, a mischievous glint in his eye. “Oh, I have my ways.” I rolled my eyes, but I couldn’t help the smile that tugged at my lips. “Alright, Caspian. Show me what you’ve got.” He launched into a ridiculous story about Dev’s failed attempt to flirt with a waitress during a family vacation. His delivery was so animated and exaggerated that I couldn’t help but burst into laughter. By the time he finished, tears were streaming down my face, and my sides ached from laughing so hard.

It was like we were two old friends, sharing a meal and some laughs together. Derek, being the jokester that he is, was regaling me with stories of his latest misadventures. He was telling me about the time he accidentally superglued his shoes to the floor during a presentation, and I was laughing so hard I was crying. "Oh my god, Derek, that's hilarious!" I exclaimed, wiping tears from my eyes. "How do you always manage to get yourself into these situations?" Derek grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "It's a gift, my friend," he said. "I'm like a magnet for chaos and destruction."

And so, on and on ,like the osscilation of a pendulum, the disheartening piece of my bio churned while the sands of time dripped slowly and slowly as it watched my narration irks the soul of the spectators. That I thought, but it appeared to be nothing but a blunt lie. It was a revolving piece of gags and laughs. A piece of funny cake, a chunk of interesting cheese, a loaf of an adventurous bread and a real ginger to the spirits of the audience. They applauded.

She pulled back, a grin spreading across her face. "Okay, enough with the sappy stuff before I break out in hives. Want to hear a joke?” I laughed shaking off the heaviness of the conversations "Sure hit me” She launched into a ridiculous story about a goose that somehow got stuck in a wedding cake and by the time she was done I was laughing so hard my sides hurt. Once the laughter died down we slipped into a more relaxed conversation. I told her about the explosion at the HQ. “Have you heard anything new about it?"

So far, the best I could think of is telling scary stories, and what’s even better is that this dude inhales each word like it’s true. “No! You can’t be serious!” He gasps, adding a step to his stride to keep up with me.

His smile, a warm crescent, invited her to join in. "As a travel writer," he continued, "I've learned that the best stories hide in unexpected places.” Sheila's laughter spilled out, a melodic surprise. "Like the hidden café in Paris with the world's best croissants?" His eyes crinkled. "Exactly! You're a kindred spirit." Their conversation began to weave a spell, each sharing tales of adventure and mishaps. Sheila found herself leaning in, her voice barely above a whisper. "I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I stumbled upon a secret beach in Bali."
