There is a small, flat remote control resting in the cutout next to it. Kir picks up the remote. He presses the center button. The smallest plug immediately starts vibrating against the cardboard packaging with an angry, aggressive hum. The noise is loud in the quiet store.

That is the more reason it shouldn't have fallen into the wrong hands. You should be thankful your bond with that pendant isn’t broken yet. You and I wouldn't have been having this conversation right now.” She breathed those words, staring into my eyes. “Well, I hope you can now finally allow me to get some good rest now.” She smirked.
