I sprang up, launching myself onto his back. I heard a loud crack. Looking up I saw Seb sticking a long sliver stake into the vamps body. Everyone froze just watching the scene. The vampire beneath Seb began to shake and black smoke filtered from his mouth before he burst into a million pieces of ash. Wow totally was expecting that. Now it’s three against two . . . Also wasn’t expecting the vampire whose back I was on to grab my head and flip me off of him. He slammed my back to the ground. He brought his massive fist down but luckily I rolled out of the way in time.

My eyes dart around, trying to ignore the lying corpse of the men who were devoured last night, having to spot no moving object I turn to Mel whose eyes are fixed at a corpse on the ground. “It was here last night” She says, pointing her gun to the pale skinned female zombie with a ripped chest. I look at the ripped corpse, most of them had their hearts ripped off and a big bore on their chest while insect feasts on their bodies. “Adam, let's go” Mel says to me. I imagine what will happen if the predator had found us in the trunk last night. At least now we know what we're up against. *******************************

I slid my shrunk broom into my pocket and walked into the base of the organization I worked with before. It was not a normal organization. They call themselves ‘the guardians underworld’. Hypocrite people think they save the work but don’t work for free. They were composed of Vampires, witches, werewolves, and also human hunters. “Is that you, Z?” I turned and saw Tim with his usual bald self and caramel skin. “I want to have a word with the boss.” He looked tensed when I said that. “Where is he?” He pointed to his office, and I went straight there.

He turned and ordered, "Drag her to the outer quarantine zone and tie her to the post. Without my permission, no one is to give her a clean death!" Hearing such a cruel command, and with Madeline's manipulation still hanging over them, not a single squad member stepped forward to object. Two of them hauled me up and dragged me away. Suddenly, roars erupted from all directions. It was worse than anything we had heard before. The zombies that had been pushed back earlier were now swarming in from every side, moving terrifyingly fast. "How do they still have the strength to break in? T-They… They've evolved!" Julian screamed in panic. His voice was shaking uncontrollably.

She had gone insane. A few seconds later, I suddenly sat upright. Wait… Could it be that the eggs had hatched? Zombies didn’t need food to survive, but baby birds were different. Even though zombies couldn’t feel pain, they still instinctively avoided danger like the acid rain. And yet this zombie bird had actually suppressed that instinct for the sake of its children. No matter what, the bird indirectly helped me more than once. It patrolled the estate every day and dealt with wandering zombies, saving me plenty of trouble.
