Moon Touched
Something shimmered just beyond them, like air folding in on itself.
“What the hell…” I started, but stopped. My brain couldn’t process what I was seeing.
And then we hit it. Something invisible, solid. We were flung back like ragdolls.
“F**k,” Onyx grunted. “What the hell was that?”
“I don’t know,” I whispered, eyes wide. “Did we just hit an invisible wall?”
“Are we in a werewolf zombie apocalypse or something?” he grumbled.
“If we are,” I muttered, “Don’t worry, you’re safe. They like brains, remember?”
