It would just be a wasted effort. Every horror story that his brothers told him went into his head but what dominated was the story about monsters with green flaming eyes hiding in the dark as it waited for a prey - a tiny puppy with white fur and brown spots and whose left leg couldn’t be bent - that was how his brothers described the prey. He thought that it was a perfect decription of him but then his mother would say that what the monsters with green flaming eyes didn’t know was that the prey was a hero in disguise.
