They all nodded at her. “Well, that's when you two met.” “Yeah. That island is already part of us. You should come and visit on vacations,” Amara said, inviting them.

Amara’s grip tightened slightly around the phone. “What do you want?” A brief silence followed. Then— “To talk.” An hour later… Amara stepped into the upscale café with uncertainty twisting in her chest.
