“Then today is a good start. She glanced at the book in his hands. “Are you actually reading, or are you just holding it for dramatic effect?” Atlas flipped the book closed, revealing the title. The Art of Letting Go. Lily snorted. “Did you pick that on purpose?” “Fate,” Atlas said with a grin. Lily shook her head, but she couldn’t deny the irony. Maybe it was fate. Maybe she was meant to be here, right now, learning how to let go. A comfortable silence settled between them as she sipped her coffee. She wasn’t sure how long they sat there, lost in the quiet, but for the first time in a long time, she wasn’t in a rush to be anywhere else.

Just as Wendy yanked the flower out of the ground, a violent shockwave roared from deep inside the hunting grounds. When the dust finally settled, an enormous beast stood towering in front of everyone. Wendy was so terrified she collapsed on the ground, trembling and stammering, "B-b-beast…" Blake's eyes went wide with rage as he stared down the beast. While Blake wrestled with the beast, I waited for an opening before I rushed in and dragged the shaking Wendy to safety. Once I got her out of the hunting grounds, I turned right back around and sprinted into the danger zone.

“William, I feel a little dizzy.” William immediately lifted her into his arms and left. I watched silently. This time, I didn’t feel sadness or pain. I followed Mike back to the hospital. His phone suddenly rang on the desk. That was my phone. Since my family couldn’t be contacted, Mike had been holding onto it. I leaned in and saw that the message was from William. “Jennifer and I are getting married at the end of the month. You like money, don’t you? As long as you come, I’ll give you a million.”

We end up making baked Salmon with mashed potatoes, cilantro lime rice and asparagus. I end up sitting between the Alpha twins during dinner and we all take our time eating and enjoying each others company.
