Luke Mason, an average teenager who just turned 18, who lived with her mother, Angela, in the suburbs of Cebu City. He acquired his scholarship to study in a prestigious school, the University of San Carlos. A school unaffordable for low-class families like him. The scholarship made it possible for Luke to study in that school for free. His father, Erik Mason, left them four years ago for matters that he did not yet understand. Before his leaving, his father promised Luke to give him a gift if he turned 18. Luke met Maria Cruz at school and fell in love in secret. Maria was mysteriously beautiful, rich, and popular. What inspired you to write One Promise? You see, when I was young, life was tough. I grew up with a broken family. I never felt the love I wanted all my life. I've always love reading. That's when I found my new comfort through writing. Then I held on to it because it gave me hope. It gave me another way to ease my broken self cause I needed to. Just when I thought I already hit rock bottom with all these pain I felt ever since I was a kid, God must've still felt the need to push me more by leaving me with a monstrous dad but I saw how God changes him. So I wrote this story for my dad.
