At the base of the stairwell, the passage split in three. Jareth paused, torch held high, scanning the walls. “The left leads to collapsed tunnels. The right to the ossuary. Malrec’s circle will be straight ahead.”
Kaelen raised a brow. “And how do you know that?”
Jareth’s face hardened. “Because I stood guard here two nights past, when his apprentices hauled crates into the chamber. I heard them chanting through the stones.”
