It makes me feel like I'm going to throw up.”

His smile was fixed. “He's going to cry,” Victoria said. “Definitely,” Nathaniel replied. “I give him two minutes.” The music changed. Everyone stood. Jenna walked down the aisle alone—no father to give her away, no mother to hold her hand. She was wearing a simple white dress, her dark hair loose around her shoulders, her smile radiant. She was not a beautiful woman, not in the conventional sense. Her features were too sharp, her smile too wide, her hips too wide for designer gowns. But when she looked at Marcus, her face transformed. She became, in that moment, the most beautiful woman Victoria had ever seen.

"I don't have her in my DM's," Jenna said with a funny expression and everyone laughed. "Yeah, she never liked you," Kai said, placing his good arm around her shoulders. "You're one of the lucky ones." They all lauhged again as they arrived at class. Kai made a point of walking past the English block to see if Connell as back at school.
