I hissed trying to ignore his call but when the call rang again, I picked up, already preparing to assault him with words, but he was quick to speak. “You saw the news?” Panic lanced through his voice. My brows knitted. “No. What news?” I demanded. “Jessie is being arrested.” His voice was sharp, but the emotions in it were unstable.
