Then I turned toward the coffee shop, took a deep breath and walked in.
Tyla’s Coffee Haven looked the same as always: the chalkboard menu, the smell of roasted beans, the faint sound of some old jazz song playing. The bell above the door jingled as I stepped inside.
Tyla looked up from behind the counter, one brow arching. “Well, well. If it isn’t the city’s most scandalous woman.”
“Don’t start,” I warned, pulling off my sunglasses.
“So, you and Nolan, huh?” She grinned, sliding a cup toward me before I even asked. “Flat white. Extra shot. You will need it.”
