The movie was scary to fawaz, he wasn't familiar with such big fishes. The movie ended in two hours , nafisa and fawaz were already sleeping. Khadija sigh before joining them. They woke up around four in the evening, prayed and they sat talking. "Naffy, it is getting late. Let me get going " Khadija said to nafisa . "Okay"She replied and run off to her room. She got chocolate cake, and chocolate biscuits for fawaz, then Khadija's favorite square veil. As I twisted the cork out, I muttered, "Damn, I gotta restock." Knox chuckled low. "I'll help you with that. We can hit Binny's Liquor Depot tomorrow after work." I gave him a side-eye. "So what, we just hanging out now?" He laughed a little, that deep, rumbling laugh that always made my skin prickle. "Nah," he said, getting serious. "I wanna tell you something else." "I'm listening," I said, sitting back down with a fresh glass. He looked me dead in my eyes. "That story I just told you… it’s only part of the reason I'm here. How do you feel about it?"

I should be drifting off, but my mind is still buzzing, still reaching for something to hold onto. “I can’t sleep,” I admit after a few minutes. “My brain won’t stop.” “What do you need?” “Tell me something. A story. Something that isn’t about councils or threats or ex-girlfriends or Nathaniel.” I shift closer, pressing my face against his chest. “Something to quiet my head.” “I don’t do stories.” “Then make one up. Something boring enough to knock me out.” The sound he makes might be a laugh. Might just be an exhale. Hard to tell with Knox.

I added. Jax couldn't believe what he was hearing. “Wait, I need to pinch myself to see if this is not a dream.” He said and pinched his face, softly. “ I'm not dreaming! This is truly happening!” He said and laughed, uncontrollably. “Should you need anything, just talk to Neo. He's the one that'll handle your satisfaction here. That is all, I assume you do not have any questions.” I asked. Jax shook his head, vigorously. “No, that should do for now. Questions should emerge when I fully start, I'm good for now.” He replied.

He returned to his seat by the desk, leaving Serena to gather her composure. She took a deep breath and tried to change the topic. "So what are you going to be doing with your time in Rhode Island apart from building webs?" Jaxon leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. "I'd definitely be building webs mostly. There are some business matters I need to attend to here." He saw her raise her eyebrows and continued, "yes, I invest in other things with my web money. And, well, what I'd be doing when I'm not doing all that. I think we'll both decide that together."

“Darling.” Sett faced Xavier with a crooked smile. “The whole place seemed a mess, and I just didn’t want anyone coming to steal your precious research away.” Sett widened his crooked smile and slowly but confidently walked towards Xavier. “We wouldn’t want to lose our ticket out of here.” He finally got to Xavier as she lowered the gun that had been pointed at Anderson the entire time. Sett seeing that, looked at Xavier passionately and leaned in for a kiss.

Aurora Jaxon got ready, and so did I—though I was losing a silent war with the zipper on my top. The zipper sat annoyingly at my side, and yet, for some cruel, mythical reason, it refused to cooperate. I twisted, strained, even laughed under my breath at my own struggle. This was crazy—a werewolf, skilled, trained for combats and battles losing against a mere zipper. Jaxon slipped into his leather jacket, caught my quiet chuckle, and answered it with one of his own. Then he crossed the room and pulled me closer without asking.
