Vanessa His lips are still on mine when I realize I’m not breathing. Or maybe I’m breathing too fast, too shallow like my body can’t keep up with what Jordan just awakened inside me. My hands are still fisted in his shirt, my body pressed flush against his, and when he finally pulls back, only a fraction, only enough for air to slip between us, his eyes are no longer just Jordan’s eyes. TJ doesn’t notice me immediately; he’s pressing on a calculator, still. Silver clears her throat to get his attention. “Christ’s,” he curses irritably once he sees me. For a second, I think he’s going to bolt again, but he sits still. His face looks pale, almost guilty.
