Something moving. Kai leaned back, exhaling slowly. “Alright,” he whispered, voice hoarse. “Time to chase the lead. If it’s real… people need to know. They deserve to know.” He leaned forward again, body tense, eyes sharp. Outside, the city groaned beneath the strain of its silence — a metropolis suffocating under fear and secrecy. Somewhere beyond those darkened streets, the escaped entity prowled. Somewhere out there, danger was evolving. Kai didn’t know if he’d survive this. He didn’t know if he’d be able to reach Aria before the system caught him or before Evo reached her. But he knew one thing for certain: he couldn’t stop now.

“Or stand out there and pretend you’re not scared of a microphone.” Kai’s jaw clenches. He steps in. The room smells like warm electronics and coffee that’s been reheated too many times. It smells like a man trying to outrun grief with work. Foam panels on the wall. A mic on a desk. A waveform on a laptop screen. Luca points at the screen. “That’s your storm.” Kai looks. His stomach drops. Helicopter light. Black water. The recovery. The dead boy in the hoodie. Kai’s mouth goes dry.

Then the screen lit up first. A message from Kai. Kai: Are you alive or did your father finally eat you?

She tried to reason, reaching for her phone. "This is my day off. No phones today." I reminded her of her own words. She looked at the screen and lifted her phone. Then she gave it to me, mouthing, 'Ahmet.' "Hello?" "I got information on the Matrix." He said to me. "Like you have assumed Elio is with them now. He might have sensed that your cousins are against him." "What's he up to?" I questioned him while Hana looked at me with obvious concern. I shook my head, giving her a kiss on her cheek, assuring her.

He was kissing her sweetly while mumbling how much he loves her and her future self was beaming with happiness. Hunter had a scar on his eyebrow. Silvia jerked back to reality. Her eyes went wide as saucers. She had a vision in which she and Hunter were together. How was that possible?

Then his teeth sank into my shoulders. Hoarsely, he said, "You thought you could go with someone else? I'll eat you. We'll be one. You'll be going nowhere!" My soul shivered. Though this wasn't my body, I was still terrified nonetheless. I screamed in my head, 'We won't merge even if you eat me, man! I'd just turn into piles of poop! What are you, ignorant?' Nathaniel could not hear that, of course. Though his face was deadpan, his gaze was sharp enough to slice.
