Chapter 2 “Thank you” he said lifting her hands to brush his lips in an airy kiss, whilst studying her face. She had amazing hazel green eyes, he imagined drowning in them but as he looked deeply into them, he saw something sad lurking behind them, she seemed to have hidden them quite well and Richard had a sinking feeling that she hide it even from herself, someone had hurt her badly and she pretended to not feel the pain, Richard felt his hands fist up and realized that he actually wanted to strangle that person and hurt him even worse than the way he had hurt this woman.

"This isn't a normal meeting." "Clearly." Damon looked between us. "So. What is this about? You said you missed me. Wanted to see me." "I do miss you. But I need to ask you something." "Ask me what?" Kade grabbed Damon's shoulder. Turned it over. There was a scar there. Faint. Almost healed. "This," Kade said. "You had a deep wound here. I saw it two days ago. It was bad. How did it heal so fast?"

The memory crashes into me, pulling me back to that night. I run my fingers over the ridges of his stomach, tracing the scars he never wants to talk about. Luca has scars—a few of them. The one on his face, he freely told me about. A fight. Then there’s the one from when Alessandro shot him. But the one he never talks about is this one, just below his ribs. I press my lips to it and look up at him as he leans against the headboard. “What happened here?” I ask.

Her back is covered in angry red and white scars, crisscrossing into a horrible lattice over her skin. My stomach churns at the sight. I knew her father had hurt her, but this is the first time I’m seeing the damage with my own eyes. I watch the realization dawn in her expression, and the look on her face nearly breaks me. Stepping forward, I try to ease her anxiety, wanting to brush this off for her sake. “Hey, little one. It’s good to see you enjoying yourself after this morning. How are you feeling?”

Three long, jagged scars cut his face in half diagonally from one temple to the jaw. It changes your look. One eye is violet, in which the other is pure black. Goosebumps rise in my arms, despite the hot air. "Korin Iwasaki is awake," says the newcomer in a cold, distant tone of voice.

I asked, pointing to it. Skylar quickly pulled his sleeve back down, his expression hardening for a split second before the mask of calm returned. "An old injury. From a hunt. Kai said, squeezing even harder, his claws were extended and pushing inside my skin. “I’m sorry, Kai. Sorry, Future Alpha Raider. I’m sorry. I don’t know why I killed her. I don’t know why I did any of those things. It’s like they’re two people living inside my memories and I don’t know which one is me.” I said, tears now streaming down my face. Kai let go off me and looked at my arms. There were five puncture wounds on both arms that were bleeding. I would heal and there would be no scar. Only silver leaves a scar, but it looked really bad.
