Chapter 7 Raul’ s POV Far be it from me to deny Scarlett what she wants, so when she started panting, “fuck me, fuck me, fuck me”, I had to comply. I am, after all, a gentleman. I unbuckle my jeans and start to slide them off as Scarlett, with one of her extended claws, makes my job easier and slices them off. It’s a good thing that she and I started keeping extra clothes at each other’s pack houses because of this very thing.

I killed him…I killed a man again…an unnecessary death. “I…I’m sorry,” I whisper. I don’t want to look at him. I know that if I do, it’ll stay with me forever. Instead, I watch Kanda. She fights the other two men. She already has one on his knees with her weapon impaled in him. When she turns, the other man is shifting. Like Kanda, he doesn’t have a collar. Kanda shifts too. I’m unable to look away. She turns into a big cat, like a cheetah, but a bit bigger. Her fur is dark, but there are some sort of prints on her that I can’t make out.

Alpha Dimitri’s POV I waited for him to continue. “While I was asking around the outer territories, I spoke to several warriors who remembered seeing the woman calling herself Fiona Lightweather. A few of them noticed something unusual about her.” My attention remained on him. “What?” “She has a scar low on her waist.” He paused. “From the descriptions I received, it appears almost identical to the one on Scarlett Bane’s neck. Same shape. Same pattern. Even the way the skin healed around it.”

Convinced that she managed to pull him into her lies, she walked toward him. "... Then you don't have any use for me anymore." "What?" Dalia thought she heard it wrong. She looked up at him with confusion. "What was that?" But instead of giving her a verbal answer, Dalia can only widen her eyes when she saw him getting a gun from his back. "Wha-" [Bang!] Before she knew it, her side was already getting wet from a hot, sticky liquid. Dalia was gaping as she slowly looked down to see her bleeding abdomen.

She turned around and now lay with her back to me, trying to hug herself. Once again, I felt something shocking—something that truly made me lose my voice when I saw the scars on her back. Cassandra’s pale white skin made the scars stand out clearly. A long line ran from her shoulder to her waist, and I saw several other scars there that, unfortunately… were just like the ones I have on my own back. I got those scars years ago from a kidnapping I experienced when I was 14, and I still carry them to this day. How… how could Cassandra have the same scars?

Too afraid. “You were burning up,” he says. I try to sit. The world tips. His hand steadies my back. “Slowly.” “Raiders?” “Delayed.” His mouth tightens. “Not gone.” I look down. My hand is still on my belly. The vision returns in flashes. The ribs. The Queen. Ashen’s howl. The moon turning white. I lift my shirt enough to see the scar. Kael goes still. The spiral is pale.

So it was their training dress-up! I gulped when my eyes moved on Kael's shirtless body. His chest was hard and perfect with abs. He had muscles that no warrior's body could compare. I was speechless seeing his perfect body, which women in the Night Fall Pack usually worshipped. However, one thing caught my eye. It was a scar on his ribcage. On his fair skin like milk, there was a red line like a sharp thorn. My eyes were fixed on the red scare. It looked like someone stabbed him, and he got stitches there.

Kaelen’s voice rumbled. ​He was standing at the bar, his back to me. His muscles rippled under the light of the fire, the scars from the battle already fading thanks to his accelerated healing. He turned, holding a glass of dark amber liquid, but his eyes weren't on the drink. They were locked on the marking he had carved into my neck.

“She was with me the whole time.” Lyra sneered. “Convenient.” Damon’s gaze moved to my neck, eyeing the fresh bandage I had put on after the window broke. “Show them,” he said. My stomach dropped. I felt Kade tense beside me. I slowly reached up and untied the scarf. The bandage came away. The scars were angry red, the faint silver teeth marks barely visible underneath. Gasps rippled through the hall. Damon stared. His jaw flexed.

°° HÉCTOR °° Jake. My fingers froze on the steering, my heart thudding louder than any drum as I watch the chaos unfolding in front of me. Jake, convulsing in Gustavo's arms, looking badly injured with blood all over his face. Even in that state and after four years have passed, there is still no way I wouldn't recognize my Gamma. He hasn’t changed a lot, most especially the ugly scar beneath his left eye. He'd gotten it from a severe attack once when we went hunting in the woods and accidentally trespassed into another pack's territory.
