Pakin’s P.O.V The air in the garage was thick with the scent of high-octane fuel and burnt rubber, a smell that had become synonymous with my new life. We stood beside our machines, the silence of the room punctuated only by the rhythmic clink-clink of tools. My car, the Valkyre, looked like a predator poised to strike, its sleek lines shimmering under the fluorescent lights. Beside it sat Sean’s Porsche GT3, a beast of a machine that mirrored its owner’s aggressive confidence.

Kai mutters, his mouth hanging open as he gazes at the vehicles. “No keys,” Brax curses. “Of course there’s not. I can hot wire it but it will take a minute.” How he plans to hot wire a car that looks like a jigsaw puzzle store threw up on it, I’m not sure, but he opens the door and drops to his knees to look under the steering wheel. He yanks off a panel, sparks flying as he starts twisting various wires together.

"These are yours." "Mine?" I ask blankly. "Yep!" Andrea says cheerfully. "Kenty had me take a cut of the drug money and buy you that sweet little bug he promised you. Go take a peek out the window." I get up from the table to go look out the window. Sure enough, a sleek and brand-new Volkswagen Beetle is gleaming in the outdoor lighting, its red paint glistening. It's adorable, I love it, and I can't accept it. "Before you say you can't accept it," Kent says, two steps ahead of me and sounding exasperated, "can I make a point?"

He nodded as he opened one of the doors and messed around with two wires under the steering wheel. "Who?" I asked him. I was very curious who else had survived this hell. "No one you'd wanna know. Most of the people still alive are the assholes and hardened criminals. I think these zombies have sophisticated taste," he said in a lame attempt at humor. The car's engine revved up suddenly and I realized he had hot-wired the car. "Holy crap, Ben, where'd you learn to do that?" I said slightly horrified but extremely impressed. He shrugged his shoulders and grinned broadly. "You'd be surprised what's on the internet."

It’s like a showroom. "Are those Chris's cars?" Cath wonders. "These three are his," he says, pointing to 3 luxury cars, the other 5 are Kellan's and the rest are mine. " “What about motorcycles?” she asks going to a Harley-Davidson, Street Glide ST and looking at it with her mouth open. “Do you like it?” asks Ken laughing. “Do you need to ask?” And immediately Ken takes his keys and motions for her to climb up. Lots of car keys, but I pick a BMW car key. Then we went down to the garage. The car blinks and that’s how we are able to find it in a row of other cars. Ben used to have much more cars than this, probably three times this number, but he gave them out and narrowed them down to eight, aside from the two official vehicles. “What model is this?” I asked as we climbed into the car. “I7. BMW I7,” he answers. “So I’m going to explain the fundamentals of driving to you and then drive the car outside the garage and you’d take over from the road, just drive a few straight lines, okay?”

He picked up two guns on the car's dashboard and handed them to his master. "Damn it! Who would dare to mess with me at a time like this?" Asher growled. But now was not the time to get angry because their opponent seemed strong. He laid Valencia down on the car seat and planned to get out to confront them. Asher picked up the headset and activated the connection to connect with Ken. "Ken. Get ready!" Asher commanded and was answered with a nod.

"...primitive." Ren sat in the metal chair. Leo stood behind him, his arms crossed. "Watch your back in there, brother." Ren put on the goggles. He felt the cold electrodes touch his temples. "Initialize," Ren commanded. Kara hit the Enter key. The generator hummed louder. The lights in the bunker flickered. Power surge. LOGIN SEQUENCE INITIATED. BYPASSING AUTHENTICATION.
