Jesse walked over to the mantel shelf beside the worn-out walnut brown couch. There were sorts of mementos, books, tchotchkes and cute little photo frames of K and her red-headed roommate. He removed his hands from his pockets to pick-up a photo of a dark-haired little girl riding a white and red merry-go-round horse, a huge smile on her face. Her cobalt blue eyes were just tiny little dots peeking through the slits of her eyes. The photo made him smile.
