The crystal trees turned into ordinary trees, and the silver leaves turned green. They emerged from the forest, back into the real world. The Keeper was waiting for them, a smug smirk on their face. “Congratulations,” they said. “You’ve succeeded in your mission. Adelia’s soul is safe, for now.” Russe and Reina didn’t respond. They were too busy tending to Adelia, who was still weak and fragile in Russe’s arms. As they walked towards the Keeper, Russe noticed a glint in their eye that made him uneasy. He knew that this was not going to be the end of their troubles.

War reluctantly slipped his phone back into his pocket before following Khan. He had no idea how Khan managed to swipe a room key and was a little curious. By force or flirting? He knew when they called the sleazy motel a woman answered the phone... "Alright he's in this room. We're not killing him, just restraining and delivering him to another pack. Got it?" His Alpha questioned before sliding the key into it holder and a click sounding. The stench of blood immediately hit War as they slowly entered the small room. Everything looked normal. A small desk with a chair, hideous green carpeting and an old tv on a struggling wooden box...until his eyes hit the bed.

“And the voice?” I met his gaze, whispering, “It said they’d collected the essence of the three kings. That soon, they’d be free. That those kings are the key to the seal.” Kylan inhaled beside me. “Wait—you mean us?” “Yes,” I said softly. “I believe the war happened before you were born. They made you, the keys made you. I don't know how but I am sure they had to form it somehow. They are the guardians of the world.”

The man cried out in pain. Black blood splattered across the stone floor. "You'll regret that," he snarled. "I already regret letting you breathe this long," Wesley replied coldly. The stranger suddenly laughed. "You still don't understand." He looked directly at me. "The girl isn't merely your mate." "She's the key." My heartbeat skipped. "The key to what?" I demanded. He smiled beneath his hood. "To a war that began before either of you was born." Before anyone could stop him, he crushed a small black crystal hidden inside his sleeve.

I nodded, “I can do that.” I spent the next hour making ice spears and daggers. Every time I would get a pile of twenty of each, a demon would grab them up and take them outside for me. I asked King Izzoth, “The war is starting, isn’t it?” He nodded, “It is. That would be why it is only you, your Grandma Gaby and me down here. I’m only in here to help you look for targets. After you finish that dagger, let’s get to the windows.” I nodded and finished up the dagger and stood up. He took me to the windows that are directly under my bedroom window. There were four sets of red eyes looking up. I smiled, “Let’s see if I can do this.” I picked up four daggers simultaneously and hurled them as fast

"You have the heart of a warrior, but also the heart of a man. You must not war against either of them, for they both make up who you are. You must embrace both, and only then will you be able to do that which you fear the most." He stared at her, for a heartbeat, then two and turned around and headed for the door. He thought if he stayed in the room much longer than he had, he'd suffocate from all the emotions sizzling in the room, bubbling up inside him. Perhaps the seer was right after all, indeed he was a warrior, and he found himself warring and fighting against all within and around him. He heard Hannah get up from the chair as he opened the door and walked out of it into the cool even
