Kyoko explained calmly, then turned off her phone screen and put it away, watching as Ryu covered his face with his hand, while his shoulders trembled. Kyoko frowned. Ryu appeared to be crying, but there was no way a man who had just discussed politics and money on such a large scale would cry over her threat. And indeed, Ryu wasn’t crying. His shoulders were shaking from holding in laughter. But eventually, he couldn’t hold it back anymore. Loud laughter echoed through the room, and Ryu had to lean forward, banging the table to calm himself. “Oh, my God. After a while, he finally slowed down. My breathing was uneven as he stopped, and I slid down from his back, my legs almost giving out. I staggered, then steadied myself, still smiling. Kabir sat beside me in his wolf form, calm and quiet. But I couldn’t stop laughing. “That… was…” I tried to speak, but another laugh escaped me. “That was fun.” He let out a soft purr and nudged me gently. I laughed again and leaned into him, my hands sinking into his fur.

I laughed out loud at my sarcasm; I had that problem, I was one of those people that thought they were too funny and no one could top their humor. “What’s with you? Firstly you started crying out of the blue, and now you’re laughing on your own,” Yu Ri was amused. “Nothing, I was laughing at what you said,” I smiled. Lies! I was laughing at what I said!

For some reason, I didn't know if it was the stress of the battle or the fact that I'd cried so much since I found Ryder with River, but I started to laugh - and not a light giggle, but a gut busting honk from me as I doubled over, tears welling in my eyes.
