Soiling herself in the shadows. Someone’s daughter, someone’s little girl. But she was foul—one of the foul spirits corrupting this place. Haunting, infesting it, bringing such ruin and disdain upon it. So the old, bitter rage surged in him again, rising up, frothing over, and his transfiguration commenced. His flesh began changing its shape, mutating, function and form, adapting to the task at hand; glowing with a phosphorescent aura one minute, becoming midnight-black and crawling over his frame the next. Tendons and ligaments visibly stretched, cartilage tore. Bones were splintering.

“Korra wasn’t my mother. She was my guardian. She never really hid that my life would change one day. She kept saying everything I knew would be taken away when the time came. I never listened. I look at him and say, “We don’t have time, we have to figure this out right now.” “Which is why I’m here,” Cora’s voice rings out. I look back at her as she pushes herself up to her feet. Every movement is slow and seems to take an abundance of energy. She’s used too much energy and power, she can’t keep this up. She won’t last like this. But she keeps moving and comes to my side as she says, “The only thing I could figure out is that the spirits need a guide.” My eyebrows furrow and I ask, “What does that mean?”

Ever since the ritual, her bond with the Alphas felt like a flickering candle, while her memory of Lucien’s cold blood and the Shadow’s touch felt like a roaring furnace. "What did you do to me?" Rhea demanded. "It’s not what I did, but what I’m about to do," Kora whispered. She raised a hand, a small, carved bone whistle between her fingers. She didn't blow it. She snapped it in half. A cloud of purple smoke erupted from the bone, swathing Rhea in a cloying, sweet scent. Rhea tried to hold her breath, but the smoke moved as if it were alive, forcing its way into her lungs.

I knew exactly what was coming for me if I didn't round up this spell, and fast. With one last burst of power, I finished the words, and yanked harder on Cora's wolf, Althea. I heard the sound of something breaking, and in the next moment, Cora screamed, her eyes flying open but remaining unseeing. The sound was raw and hoarse and horrible, but with it came the one thing I wanted. I guided the wolf spirit into the urn, and sealed it, just as I heard thundering footfalls coming down the hallway. Shit.

Only weariness. “You shouldn’t be here,” he said quietly. “You shouldn’t be anywhere,” I replied. He smiled faintly. “You still have your fire. That’s good.” “This isn’t about fire,” I said. “It’s about ending this. For both of us.” Aaron tilted his head, studying me. “You think you can end it? Do you even understand what you are, Kora?” “Enlighten me.” He stepped closer. “You’re not just a vessel for flame. You’re the bridge between realms. The last anchor between what lives and what refuses to die.”

Nancy asked negatively. “No, no, the complete opposite, actually. It seems you have the Spirit Sprite body, specifically to harness and release Spirit energy for your host.” Blake explained. “You make it sound like a parasite,” Koran stated with a frown. “It’s not like that. Nancy’s body can draw in Spirit energy called Qi, but there is a limit to how much she can hold, and it will be prematurely released, causing her sensual aura to be unstable. She has to cultivate to the golden core to stabilize this aura, or many cultivators will go after her to cough, duel-cultivate with her.” Blake explained more in detail.

His eyes became brighter, and his skin developed a faint glow. Kai knew that he was ready. He took a deep breath and said the spirit's name aloud. "I summon you, Spirit of the Lake," he said. The mirror began to ripple and distort. Kai watched in amazement as a figure emerged from the depths of the mirror. The spirit was tall and ethereal, with pale skin and long flowing hair. Its eyes were bright and otherworldly. "I am here," the spirit said. "What is your wish?" Kai swallowed hard. He had never seen anything like this before.

I diverted my attention, elsewhere, afraid to vomit because of the guy who is bluntly flirting with a spirit. I saw a Spirit wearing a brown armor-looking suit with black highlights. He is probably the spirit of earth. The spirit is floating in front of a girl, a shy looking girl. She has eyeglasses and a few bruises on her arms. The girl is looking up to the spirit with an awkward smile, more awkward than the smile I was flashing a while back. The Spirit is smiling as he look down on her, both are not talking.

The morning air was crisp, carrying the faint scent of snow as the sun shone over the training grounds. Despite the lingering winter chill, heat radiated from the gathered group as they stretched and prepared for another rigorous session. Lira adjusted her stance, rolling her shoulders as she faced Caius, Ronan, Elias, and—unexpectedly—Kora, who had decided to join the sparring. “I figured it was about time I learned how to properly fight,” Kora said, smirking as she tied her hair back. “I can’t let my best friend be the only badass around here.”
