The words landed hard. Because she already knew they were true. Now that she had seen Guerero fight with her own eyes, she could no longer lie to herself. Then suddenly, Guerero saw Genaro. And something inside him snapped. His eyes turned wild instantly. No strategy. No caution. Just rage. He charged straight at Genaro. Danika barely had time to react. “You’re the problem. Ever since she came back, you’ve been weak. Obsessed.” Valerio cocked the gun. “Touch her with your eyes again, and I’ll gouge them out.” Luca grinned. “There he is. The Valerio I remember.” “You’ve got one chance,” Valerio said coldly. “Surrender. Tell me where Lucien is.” Luca spit at the floor. “I thought so.” Gunfire erupted before the echo of his words faded. Sera dove behind a crate, returning fire with precision. Valerio took down two men before ducking behind a steel barrel. Bullets tore through the walls, lighting the garage with sharp bursts of flame and metal.
