"You really liked the house next to the Web villa, didn't you? I'll have the lawyers send it to you.” Remi laughed. Not enough, and too late. "If I hadn't seen Jimmy and Bernice meet at school, you would have kept me in the dark forever," she added. “You wouldn't have to pay me anything. I never hurt you, Lacy. You know that night with you was a setup, so you must know that I had nothing to do with Nathaniel’s death. Nobody wants to be called a murderer.”

She then folded the letter back into the envelope and placed it on the sofa table. Looking at her two guests alternately, Julia Ann said, "I really don't want to be a witness. I've forgotten that embarrassing incident. Won't it endanger my own life if I testify against Henry Crawford, the son of the current senator?" "We understand, Miss Julia, but there have been several victims in the past few days. Perhaps you’ve seen the news on TV—two women, Cecilia Briane Sommerhalder and Erina Marie Larson, were murdered in less than a week. Would you rather wait for your turn to be threatened next?” Sergeant Rodney launched his persuasive attack on Julia Ann Armstrong.

A ticker at the bottom of the screen. I could not read it from the bedroom doorway. I crossed the room and stood in front of the screen and read it twice and felt something move through me that was not quite any single emotion but a compound of several, tightly compressed. LILA CARTER, RECOVERING SOCIALITE, SPOTTED IN NEW YORK CITY. SOURCES CLOSE TO THE FAMILY CONFIRM: SHE IS HOME. And beneath it, in the smaller font of developing information: KINGSLEY REUNION RUMORED.

the woman asks, her eyes scanning the lobby until they land on me. "Yes?" She pulls out her badge. "Detective Sarah, Financial Crimes Unit. This is my partner, Detective Marcus Rodriguez. We're looking for Lawrence Hayes. We understand he was recently employed here?" The name hits me like ice water. Greta gasps. "Larry? What's this about?" Detective Sarah's gaze shifts to Greta, assessing. "And you are?" "Greta Hayes. I'm his mother. What's going on?"

Anyway, Ciara continued reading the article on the blog. “It was then discovered that Samuel Fury, alongside his wife, Ciara Summers had accosted the same Lottie at her workplace in her hometown, which turned out to be heated. Sources are speculating that Samuel Fury and Ciara Summers are working hand in hand; they threatened Lottie’s life, and maybe that was why Lottie had to relocate to the city…”

Lucian opened it with deliberate care and lifted out the first document. The healer’s report. He held it up so the pack elders seated at the ends of the table could see it clearly. “This is the medical record from the night my former mate Lysandra died,” he said. His voice stayed even, but the room grew quieter with each word. “It describes a young woman matching Nyx’s description. Extreme serum exposure. Involuntary. The healer noted signs of forced ingestion and forced shift. The healer is dead now, but her daughter kept this record hidden. It proves Nyx was a victim, not a killer.”

He was working for Benjamin, and given the current development I'm sure as hell that he wasn't working in my favor. “Case number 2847, State vs. Larissa Knowles,” the clerk’s voice boomed, as we all settled down. The case started off with the prosecutor presenting evidence, the first which was a personal diary that supposedly belonged to Lara. “Your Honour, this is the personal diary of Ms. Lara Sylvester, the victim in this case,” the prosecutor announced, handing it over to the bailiff, who in turn gave it to the judge. “In it, she expresses concerns about her safety due to Ms. Knowles' insecurities and erratic behavior.”

On the fourth day, a letter arrived. Forwarded through Clark. Lauren opened it with shaking hands. Dear Lauren, You don't know me, but you saved my life. My name is Michelle Benson. You might know me as Michelle Matthews. I was Liam's first victim. The one who got away, though I never really got away because running from him meant leaving behind my father, my home, my entire life. I always felt he had something to do with my father's death, but there was no proof. When Officer Clark contacted me, I was too scared to come forward or even talk to her. For that, I would like to say sorry.

She scoffs. “Whatever, I called to tell you what I found on your psychotic ex-wife who returned from the dead, apparently. Everything about Lillian Baker is exactly the same as we’ve been fed with the rest of the world… lung cancer, a happy marriage that almost ended with a divorce, blah blah blah. But I did rake out something on a woman who was closely in contact with Bianchi, and her name was Mary Ross but when I dug deeper, I found out a picture from a security footage in Texas. It was Lillian. Lorenzo, Rose is one of the many names Lillain has just like Mary Ross, Emily Stoner, and Vivian Lark. I’ve found many names that match that picture of her.

Lacy defended herself. "She's right, dad." added Lacy's father George. "My family has been working together in our office these few days. We barely have time to contact anyone else outside of our family." "Then tell me, how did OneMedia get a hold of the whore you hired to set up that trash Oliver Reed? You had better not lie to us." Cleo asked Lacy sternly. Lacy continued to stand her ground in defense of herself, "I do not know, grandma. Furthermore, I have no contact with OneMedia, and neither does that Kelly Baxter. Unless..."
