One of them, larger than the rest, locked eyes with me and smiled with too many teeth.
“Found you, little healer.”
Chaos erupted. Kael and Kieran drew their weapons, Lucian moved faster than I could track, positioning himself in front of me despite his own injury. My shoulder burned white-hot as his did.
The lead rogue raised a strange, pulsing crystal toward me. Dark energy crackled from it.
“Time to come home, Selene,” he snarled.
