The room erupted in laughter again, and they continued talking and laughing. The laughter in the room grew louder and louder. Kathryn was almost falling off her chair, Fiona had tears in her eyes from laughing so hard, and even Trisha, who had been defending her “perfect man” description, couldn’t hold back her giggles anymore. It was one of those moments where the joy was so contagious, they couldn’t stop even if they tried.

I sat on top of the car, and I could hear him cussing me out inside. I thought, "Austin, even if I survived the mountains, I would be resting in bed from the shock. Hope yells too, "You'll regret it!” "Yes, you'll fucking regret this!" I yell and then I let out a laugh when I realize how hysterical and insane we look right now. I laugh so hard, my tears decide this is the right moment to come out. Then I'm laughing and crying at the same time, "You'll fucking regret it, you will regret it...” My voice starts to lose power and, before I know it, I'm only crying. Hope hugs me again and strokes my back while I have the meltdown I’ve been avoiding for hours.

Luciana completely lost it, doubling over as tears of laughter streamed down her face. I should've been furious, but instead I found myself—God help me—fighting the corner of my mouth from twitching. I close my eyes, tears pooling behind my lids as silent laughter wracks my body as the mushy, yet tough, burnt concoction sits in my mouth refusing to go down my throat. I bite down, something crunching unpleasantly between my teeth that causes me to lose all composure. I grab a napkin and spit out the mouthful of food, breaking into a fit of laughter as tears stream down my face. “Is it that bad?” Jartre asks, his face looking almost bereft. I reach out, grabbing his arm as I fight to control my laughter. I take a large sip of water, swallow down whatever is left in my mouth and wipe away my tears.

My tears were spilling down my cheeks now and I don’t care if I was crying in front of him, it just hurts so much and I don’t want it to hurt anymore. “Why did you come out? To know if I’m crying?
