His breath stank of cigarettes. "Let me go!" I gagged, struggling hard. The next second, the guy flew two feet back, passing out with a grunt. A familiar, cool scent hit me as someone helped me up. I looked up to see a handsome face, and tears poured out. "You left the party early," he said, his voice deep and soothing. "I got worried and checked the surveillance. I'm sorry I'm late."

It practically took him ten seconds to get the words out. For his generosity, Miss chole gave him the role of homeless person, and we knew he'd do fairly well in that role. The homeless person, you see, was completely mute, but the angel always knew what he was thinking. At one point in the play she has to tell the mute homeless person that God will always watch out for him because God especially cares for the poor and downtrodden. That will be one of the tip-offs to the audience that she'd be sent from heaven. Old Mason is being attacked emotionally.

The images cling to the corners of my vision refusing to fade. The air feels thick, pressing down on me, choking me as if it wasn’t quite real, hands trembling uncontrollably. “Breathe Tish, inhale, hold exhale.” I hear Kim’s gentle voice guiding me. My breaths come shallow, jagged at first, like I am learning to breathe again slowly. I loosen my grip on the mattress, willing my pulse to slow down. Eyes closed, I breathe in the faint scent of rain filtering through the small cracked window, mixing with the stale air of the room. “Breathe in and out.”

Anthony peeked out from behind her, looking smug. I collapsed onto the floor, finally snapping back to my senses. Looking at my sister's blazing eyes, mine turned red. "Sis, I'm sorry. Please don't be mad." I struggled to my feet, enduring the unbearable itch crawling across my skin, and began putting every rubber figurine back where it belonged. In the end, my throat was so swollen I could barely breathe, and my face turned a sickly blue before I collapsed onto the ground again. Yessenia watched me gasp for air while still trying to clean up. She seemed a little taken aback.
