I picture the dirt underneath the grass, and the rocks underneath the trees. I feel the fire recede, its oppressive heat disappearing. I open my eyes, and the fire is completely gone. But how did I do that? There’s no time to wonder. The Hunter who hurt Alec turns to me and raises his sword. His eyes are cold and cruel. I raise my hand, and my dad’s bracelet glows white hot against my wrist. Ripping the bracelet off, I throw it, and, almost as if it were sentient and with a mission, it wraps around the Hunter’s hand. He yanks at it and curses, but it holds.

Three surged toward Jake and Jolie, while the remaining five barreled straight for Julian and Joanna. Jake snapped his hands outward, unleashing his metal ability. The rusted steel rebar inside the shattered concrete barriers groaned, ripping free from the stone like jagged lances. He hurled them forward, impaling the lead zombie through the shoulder, but the Level 2 variant barely flinched, snapping the metal rod with its bare hands and continuing its charge.

The virtual classes weren't working no matter how hard i tried and i was depressed. I was perhaps just unproductive and moppy and sad and overwhelmed. I couldn't even bring myself to play games and having Alejandro around, just seemed sort of late, no matter how hard he tried. And God, he did. I budged, fluttering my eyelashes out of deep thoughts as i looked to my phone. The screen lit as Wu called back. I scrambled the phone, closer before sliding to answer and with a frail voice— —i answered, "Hello" * WU

[Juliet's POV] The music at the celebration party continued. Surrounded by a crowd, Alison basked in the crowd's repetitive praises. Suddenly, a deafening boom came from the city walls. Overlapping growls and roars of zombies tore through the atmosphere. Terror erupted instantaneously. People in the crowd screamed, "It's a swarm of zombies! A massive swarm of zombies!" A guard ran over, staggering along the way. "The lightning barrier on the right of the base has been breached. There's a massive gap. Zombies are coming through soon!"

Bag after bag of plasma was pumped into my veins. One raw, guttural scream tore out of me, and then the sound of a baby crying filled the room. On my phone, the screen was still frozen on one last image. Jasper and Fiona were locked in a kiss beneath the Aurelian Tower. I held my crying son and let the tears fall without stopping.

I even counted the ones on the ground, the ones who are still alive are more than ten and I do not have any idea where are they coming from. “Beware of your strength!” I warned them as we have to keep on fighting until we kill all of them. I wasn’t able to hear their response but I am sure they are doing what they know best, to hunt. “Do not run away!” I shouted and throw my spear directly into the werewolf running away. I got its left leg and I immediately run to finish it off. The werewolf raises its claws and desperately reached for my face but I evaded it and took out my knife and pierced it through its heart.

Yet, he dropped into a swift side roll, grabbed a steel pipe, and smashed it hard. He might have been the team's weakest link, but he was still miles better than Esmeralda. I tuned him out and focused only on mowing down the horde of zombies that kept pouring in. Noah, however, looked like a different person. He weaved through the horde with quick, precise strikes. When the last zombie dropped dead, only our ragged breathing remained in the lab. Fortunately, we had stocked up on ammunition and weapons before setting out, and we were in better shape than before. That was the only reason we made it out unscathed.

The zombie was running towards her and Maria make the stick ready to stab that zombie on her head. When the zombie got close to her, the zombie grab Maria clothe the stick she was holding fell off and she started trying to defend herself from the zombie while that zombie is also trying to eat Maria up. Maria was breathing fast and sweating while struggling with the zombie. The zombie pushed Maria to the ground jump on her with his mouth open to eat Maria up, Maria is ready to surrender herself to the zombie but when she looks beside her, Maria saw the stick she quickly pick it up and stab the zombie on her head.

My vision had gone blurry, and I could taste metal in my throat. I was 50 yards away from the subway when the wall beside me fell with a loud crash. A Tier Six zombie, 13 feet tall and covered in spikes, roared as it charged at me. Its claws swiped loudly against the air. The hit was far too fast for me to follow. I couldn't dodge. Judging by the trajectory of the attack, it would land on my chest. Was I going to die here? I just came to this world… No, I wouldn't go down without a fight. I widened my eyes and held my bayonet as tightly as I could, bracing myself for the lethal hit.
