Light Blue Masquerade Masks Novels & Stories

Anthony retrieves the bottle and glasses from the maid and dismisses her with a nod. "I like what you've done with your hair" he informs, filling the glasses. "One more thing we have to thank Kenzie for" he hands me a champaign flute. "Cheers" I raise my glass and he clinks it with his. The champaign's a pale, rose color and it tastes deliciously crisp. "Here" he hands me a large, silver pouch that was lying on the centre table. I reach into it and pull out a black masquerade mask. It's beautiful, it has gold ribbons threaded around the edges and stunning gold filigree around the eyes and intricate patterns in gold, thin lines.

The four of them including Emilia’s boyfriend had been lucky to get them early enough. He looked around at the other people in the long queue. Some masks were extremely elaborate and included headdresses, copious amounts of glitter and jewels and some were simple like his. He had elected for a dark blue mask that covered his eyes and didn’t have any other embellishments. He had mainly come to keep his friends company and not to miss out on a social event. He didn’t like missing out on anything. The queue moved quickly and soon he was stepping into the massive marquee. The theme of the ball was mystery so the lighting was dim and mostly seemed to be provided by candlesticks set about the edge

“Find out anyway. Offer triple payments if necessary. I need names, locations, anything that might explain how someone becomes capable of what we witnessed.” “Understood. What about the mask itself? If we could identify the material or craftsmanship—” “Good thinking.” I nodded approvingly. “Larry, describe the mask again. Every detail you can remember.” The injured survivor closed his eyes, concentrating. “Black material. Looked like leather or treated cloth. No decorations or identifying marks. Covered everything except the eyes.” “Eye color?” “Dark. Brown or black, maybe grey. Hard to tell in the chaos.” Useless. Thousands of fighters had dark eyes. But it was a starting point.

Mia rolled her eyes. “But I’m 100 percent sure, that it’s him!” Bella added and we went to the counter. There salesmangave us some masks to choose from. Mia and Bella chose masks that would match with dresses. “Oh, this is your mask!” she said and gave me a blue mask with diamonds and laces, covering it. “Wow! It’s very beautiful, Ky!” Bella exclaimed. “Yes! Lucky bitch!” Mia laughed. “I can’t take it!” I stated. “What?!” Mia, Bella and that worker screamed in unison.

The skirt flowed out in alternating layers of shimmering silver and gold, meant to be reminiscent of the yellow moonlight dancing across the water’s surface. As I finished the last seam on the bodice, I held it up to admire my handiwork in the dim light of my lamp. The intricate beadwork caught the light, sending tiny rainbows dancing across the walls of my dorm room. I could already picture myself moving on the dancefloor, the crystals catching the moving lights of the masquerade. “Perfect,” I murmured to myself, a tiny smile tugging at the corners of my lips. Next, I turned my attention to the mask that would complete my ensemble. It was a delicate piece, crafted from the same midnight blu

Hidden behind Masks, they allowed themselves to get lost in the glamor of it all, having left their humdrum behind. Each sister adjusted their mask, ready to immerse themselves in the biggest night Gala of the year. According to her, the masks they wear at this club arent the frilly, lacy kind that barely conceal anything. The mask itself is expertly shaped from a thin layer of supple leather and is painted in vibrant shades of blue and purple and black. When its on, it covers my face from the bottom of my cheeks to the top of my forehead, the edges sweeping up from the eyeline to emulate wings. Each one is scattered with tiny jewel-colored crystals that catch the light and shimmer iridescently. The only parts of my face that will be visible once I put it on will be my jaw, my mouth, and my eyes. Freya gently takes the mask from my hands. "I'll put it on for you. We need to be wearing them when we arriv

Naomi stepped back and studied her work. “I’m done,” she said, holding out a blue mask. I frowned. “What’s this for?” “You’re the flavour of the evening,” she explained. “Masks make buyers curious. Mystery sells.” I hesitated before slipping it on. When I looked in the mirror, I barely recognised myself. The woman staring back looked polished, beautiful even, but distant. The blue mask hid half my face, turning me into someone else. “Good luck,” Naomi said softly. “Tonight, your name is Blue.”

Draped across her arms was a dress covered in protective tissue, delicate embroidery peeking through the folds. "Come with me," Lucia said. Mili followed. They passed the hum of the preparations, slipping down a quieter corridor until Lucia pushed open the door of Mili's old room. "Sit." Mili did, watching Lucia lay the gown across the bed. The fabric spilled like liquid, a soft ivory threaded with pale gold, catching the light as if the garment itself breathed. Beside it, Lucia placed a lace-woven masquerade mask.

"So, we are taking a little detour," Blake announced, making a U-turn. "Where are we headed?" "The boutique. I actually ordered for an Italian suit. Good thing I got them in pairs and we happen to be just about the same size. Like I knew you were coming or something? You could also get a masquerade ball mask you know to cover your face," he suggested. "How can the almighty Lucifer not know I was coming? Ain't you supposed to have the power of foretelling or something? It would be great to know a thing or two about my future or don't you think so?" He told with a dazzling smile.
