She swore again, fear making her voice too loud. But the leurcher did not flinch at the sound. Lily stilled, sucking in her breaths. Building her nerve, she spoke again. “Hey!" She said it as loudly as she dared. "I’m over here!” The leurcher’s gills flared yet again, but it make no movement at her sound. A slow smile spread across her lips. The creature was not only blind, but deaf. Hauling herself to her feet, she leapt back just as it swiped at her. It moved unsteadily, wobbling from leg to leg with surprising speed.

Mac threw himself further forward as a loud, piercing scream filled the air and Lily plummeted downwards with the crumbling rock. "LILY! LILY!"

The voice came again, gentle but was laced with panic and exhaustion. “Who is it?” I finally asked. “This is Ethan. I'm sorry for calling you this late. I need your help.” My blood ran cold with fear. Why was he calling me? How did he get my direct line? “Any…. problem, sir?” I managed to keep my cool. “It's Lily. She has been crying since, I don't know what to do?” His voice choked with panic. “Please calm down. Has she eaten?” “She's not taking food, it seems she only wants to scratch her jaw as she keeps putting my finger in mouth.”

Eli opened his eyes and looked around at the faces surrounding him. "Wow." His voice sounded thinner than usual. "I really screwed that up." The attempt at humor landed unevenly. A few people managed weak smiles. Most couldn't. Lily stood near Nora, wrapped in a blanket and trying very hard not to cry. Eli noticed immediately. "You okay?" The question almost broke her. "You pushed me." "Yeah." "You yelled at me." His mouth twitched. "That sounds like something I'd do." The tears finally escaped. Lily wiped at her face angrily.

Lily ran as fast as she could and got into the next bedroom by the balcony, she got under the bed and breathed heavily. “I’m here.” She said and sniffed. “Now, the next part is very important. They are going to take you.” Axel said and Lily cried. “No, no. Axel, they look so scary.” Lily cried. “Don't cry, listen to me, Lily.” He said but Lily kept crying. “Lily please. Stay focused baby, listen to me.” Axel said. “Okay.” “Leave the phone on the floor, concentrate, shout out everything you see about them, hair colour, eye colour, tall or short, scars, anything you see. You understand?” He asked and Lily cried.
