He looked so happy that time and I found a reason why I didn't regret my decision in spite of the bad relationship between me and my husband. Rogue hates me because he thought I convinced his grandfather to push this wedding. We could've easily divorce after grandpa's death, but I'm not letting it happen. I promised grandpa to make this marriage work. He talked to me one last time before he died in my arms. He made me promise him that I'll stay married with his grandson no matter what. I don't wanna fail him. I don't wanna break my promise to him. "Lily, are you done with the packaging of our new product?"

His face glimmered under the skylight, and my heartbeat increased. His lips pathed in a way that I could almost feel his lips on my skin. My legs tightened, and I grabbed the railing behind me. “Do you promise to do what I'll ask?” Ivy asked him, and I tried to remove her hands from mine, but she didn't let me. “I promise. Today is your day. So you can get me to do anything you want…” “King Slade,” Queen Lyra shot, and he held up two of his fingers, and she went silent.

Her eyes lifted the moment she saw me, and a smile formed on her lips that never reached her eyes. “Congratulations, Lily,” she said. I stopped and faced her, keeping my expression neutral. “Thank you.” “I had an errand to run,” she continued smoothly. “So I totally missed your celebration.” “I see,” I replied. “But I guess Vincent was around,” she added lightly. “He wouldn’t miss something like that.” There it was. The trap. I smiled politely, refusing to bite. “Well, you didn’t miss much,” I said. “You’re welcome back anyway.”

Lily was waiting there for her and as soon as she entered she spoke, “Nezeira! How long do I have to stay here? I wanna go home.” Nezeira, replied with a straight face, “I just spoke to you about it. Do you want to back out? If so then tell me now. Because after today you cannot.” Lily, “Can you promise to protect me if I do this, so that I can return home?” Nezeira, “You have my word. Your safety is my responsibility.” Lily, “ Fine then. I am in.”

That I wasn't still looking over my shoulder, waiting for James to find a way to destroy this fragile happiness I'd built. But as we prepared to leave, Lena pulled me aside one more time. "Promise me something," she whispered. "Anything." "Promise me you won't disappear again. Whatever happens with him…" she nodded toward Ace "…promise me you'll stay in my life this time." Tears stung my eyes. "I promise." "Good." She hugged me tightly. "Because I can't lose you again, Lily. I can't." As we drove away from the house, I stared out the window at the familiar streets of my childhood. Everything looked smaller somehow, less intimidating than I remembered.

Lily took a deep breath, letting the weight of it all settle in. Despite the pain, despite everything, she knew Maya was being honest now. And that was all that mattered. "I forgive you, Maya," she said softly, her voice steady despite the tears in her eyes. "But you have to promise me this won’t happen again. No more secrets. No more lies." Maya nodded fervently, her expression filled with relief. "I swear, I’ll never lie to you again. I promise." Lily’s heart was heavy, but she felt a small sense of peace wash over her.

“Lily, I am scared too. I am scared to mess up when I talk to you and say the wrong thing. I am scared that you will reject me if we are mates. But I trust the Moon Goddess. I have never felt this way about anyone. I am sure you are mine and I am yours. I promise to make you feel special every day and I promise to listen to you. I want you to be my Luna. "I know how this looks, Mae, and I know I've made huge mistakes. But I'm telling you the truth now." I shake my head, "You are only doing this now because you suspect she might turn on you. What did she promise you? Tell me, what was the deal you both made that made you do this or participate in this nonsense." Lily’s eyes dart around the cell as if searching for the right words—or an escape. She sighs heavily, and when she speaks again, her voice is tinged with defeat. "Evelyn promised she would take Sin from you and have you come back to me."

“We’ll fight this together. I won’t let them win. I promise you.” Lily looked into his eyes, searching for the truth in his words. The promise was there, but was it enough? Could she really trust him again, knowing what she now knew? For the first time in what felt like forever, she allowed herself to believe that maybe, just maybe, they had a chance. She didn’t look at me with hatred or a grudge; she was just… cautious. “Sienna. I promise that I will reward you.” “You have done it.” And it was true.
