A wall was up and I was looking in from a small window on the outside. I haven't even realised it yet, but I have been crying. Wet streams are just flowing without question down my cheeks. I can tell, because it has a ticklish effect on my skin. The doctor noticed me, "Mam this is a private room, I would need you to leave or I will have to call security." As the words make their way into my brain like cutting shears, Noah returns from the alternate universe he was trapped in just moments ago. Our eyes met as the door shut behind me.

She walked, leaving behind the comfort of familiarity for the allure of the unknown. The forest canopy opened to the heavens, moonlight drenching a small clearing in ethereal light. The air was alive here, tingling with something that transcended the natural. Amelia paused, the sight between the ancient oaks drawing her in. It was delicate, almost an illusion—a shimmering veil that flickered in and out of existence as if playing a game of hide and seek with her senses. Excitement curled in her stomach, mingling with apprehension.

Letting myself drag after him, I try not to lose my balance and stumble over my own feet and gulp down the fear obstructing my throat in the form of a lump. We walk off the marketplace, entering a thick forest, and just as it starts to get dark because of the many trees obstructing the strange sun circle in the sky, we reach a glade. I should feel relief, but the dancing lights that seem to be carried by insects bathing in the green light, cause everything to make my blood run cold. A few steps from the clearing, we approach an esoteric cabin, and I just want to go home. “Mind the gap,” Hilda says, stumbling over the doorstep of the entrance of the small hut.

"But it is a story for another day. Eric needs you right now." The desperation in her tone refueled my drive. As I uncorked the vial, the aroma of wildflowers and something metallic wafted up. "Wait," she murmured, her tone stern. "Before you go, remember that the liminal space is a mirror. It will represent your anxieties, wants, and vulnerabilities. "Remain focused, or it will consume you." I nodded, my throat tightening. Without saying anything further, I drank the beverage in one fast swallow.

The separation from Killian felt like a physical limb being torn away from my body, a raw ache that pulsed with every step I took into the unknown. But in the emerald shadows of the Forbidden Forest, there was no room for the luxury of grief. The Ancients, those silent and moss-covered guardians of the deep woods, led us deeper into the primordial heart of the Forest. We moved through suffocating tunnels of silver-tipped briars that seemed to watch us pass, and crossed ancient bridges fashioned from living, calcified bone that hummed with a low, rhythmic power beneath our paws.

Raelin trailed a few steps behind, always the shield, her presence the gravity that kept them anchored. They did not speak for miles. The silence was not uneasy, but necessary. They were breaking away at something they had left Pack as it had been, history as it had been taught, and into what was older what was not victimized by the lies of time. The farther into the forest they went the thiner it grew, thiner, not dryer, but more awed, as the trees bowed back as though making a path. They halted when they came to the stone archway which was the boundary of the real Den territory.

Genesis The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows through the dense canopy of the forest. Leaves crunched underfoot as I sprinted through the underbrush, my breath coming in short, ragged gasps. The tall pines loomed overhead, their dark silhouettes merging into an almost impenetrable wall. Every few steps, branches clawed at my arms and face, but I pressed on, driven by a sense of urgency that outweighed the pain.

I’ll be lucky if she leaves before then, and I get my life back again without necessarily having to undergo the punishment of rejection. The invisible barrier I created throughout the forest comes undone once I come close in proximity. I glance above to glimpse at the full moon and drop my gaze to the stillness beneath my feet. The tree tops are thickly clustered and unmoving, soaked in unnatural darkness with a shimmering thin line cutting my territory in a zig-zag pattern from the territory of the Were-beings; the Bracken River.

There aren’t a lot of places to go. I look around and feel for the buzz I am starting to associate with magic around me. “That way.” I point and move on instinct. The tree line isn’t as dense as I thought. From the outside of the barrier, the forest looks like it gets thicker and thicker until you can’t see a thing through the darkness. Their walls are painted with the same white color. A rose field is located in Pente before reaching Sehs or Limite. That's the last destination to be found here. But we didn’t go to the last place. Instead, we turned left into the woods and took the unfamiliar path. The familiar sound of swaying green trees as the cold whispers of a morning wind makes my body quiver. The cold it brought was penetrating to the bone because it was probably also in the dew. Knowingly, our steps collided with each bird that is humming songs, or perhaps, what I could hear. It was pleasant noon for the sun shone with clouds around it. Plus, add to that the freshness of the breeze, a natural scent I'd never
