Not slipping between corners, not hiding in darkness. But stepping through the space between light and thought. I wrap my arms around myself and look outward. The land beyond the crystalline ridge is beautiful in a way that almost hurts. Forests stretch wide, their leaves edged with silver. Hills roll like waves frozen mid-crest. In the distance, I see structures rising — not built, but grown. Towers shaped like spiraled bone and living stone. And beneath it all — A tremor. This realm is not whole. It is scarred.

After the promise to come back soon and be safe. They both set forth on a perilous journey toward the forbidden forest. After walking and running for three nights they both were finally able to find the entrance to the forest away from the territory of the pack. The forest was shrouded in an eerie silence, the air thick with an otherworldly presence. Every step they took was laced with caution and anticipation. Shadows danced among the trees, their movements mirroring the uncertainty that swirled within their hearts. There aren’t a lot of places to go. I look around and feel for the buzz I am starting to associate with magic around me. “That way.” I point and move on instinct. The tree line isn’t as dense as I thought. From the outside of the barrier, the forest looks like it gets thicker and thicker until you can’t see a thing through the darkness. Scarlett & Caelan SCARLETT The trees thin too quickly. One moment, the forest crowds in, thick with shadow and scent and memory. The next, we stumble into a clearing that doesn’t feel like it belongs to this world at all. The air is thinner. The light is off. The space between things feels stretched, like the edges of a dream fraying just before waking. Caelan slows beside me. His silver eyes scan the ground, the trees, the sky.

"Ezra said to everyone. Everyone left away from the area and watched from a distance. Ezra open the door and walked outside with the bag. When she got outside you could smell the burning tree and body that didn't make it to the tunnel. The air was surrounded by thick red fog that covers the whole land. Any normal person would be able to see Ezra's lightning shield form a bubble around her whenever she came in contact with the fog the shield separated. The shield was able to make Ezra see clearly.

Lyla said softly, her breath catching as they stepped into a clearing where the ground sparkled with silvery moss. “It’s also too quiet,” Eli said, his voice low. “Stay alert.” As they moved further, the forest’s energy became almost overwhelming. Lyla felt it coursing through her veins, a constant hum that made her heart race. They reached the edge of a small ravine, and Lyla froze. Across the gap was a grove, unlike anything she’d ever seen. The trees glowed with a soft, silver light, their leaves shimmering like stars. In the centre of the grove stood a massive tree, its trunk etched with ancient symbols that pulsed faintly.

It was like the gravity shifted around her. When we finally reached the edge of the Whispering Pines, the trees stretched into the sky like spires, and the wind carried an eerie melody—like a song with no beginning or end. I hesitated at the border. “Once we cross… we’re in another world. There’s no going back.” Akira stepped beside me. “Then let’s not look back.” We entered the forest together.

The forest itself seems to hold its breath, watching our intrusion with ancient awareness. Twenty minutes later, we reach the outer boundary of what must be the ritual site. The clearing ahead appears mundane at first glance—a roughly circular space perhaps fifty meters across where the trees thin naturally. But looking more carefully reveals the wrongness. The shadows fall at subtly incorrect angles. The plants at the clearing edge grow in patterns too regular for natural development. The very air seems thicker, more resistant to movement. But I definitely did not eye-rape him. "I am so sorry." I mumbled. Is the universe against me or something? "I wasn't looking and-" Okay, maybe I did a little bit of eye-raping. I mean, who could blame me? He's gorgeous. He has sandy blonde hair with some brown highlights. His face is just... pure perfection. Then I realised something that made me frown. Something that made memories of him come back. His eyes were a shade of forest green. Forest freaking green. Ashton. Oh god. I'm not even kidding, I am going to cry.

He looked at me for one more moment. Then the domain moved. Not dramatically not with earthquake or storm or any of the visible violence of something asserting itself. Simply shifted. The ancient forest around us rearranged in the specific way of a space that has decided to begin. And I was alone. Not separated from the others physically. But between one breath and the next the ancient forest had become something else entirely and I was standing in a space I recognized with a recognition that hit me before my mind had finished processing what I was seeing.
