The room was dimly lit, the only source of light coming from the crackling fireplace. I leaned over the large oak table, and my hands braced on the edges as he scanned the map laid out before him. Luke stood by my side, arms crossed, his face a mask of determination.
“Three days,” I said, his voice low but firm. “We’ve spent three days hashing this out, and I think we finally have something solid.”
“Agreed,” Luke replied, nodding. “But we can’t afford any mistakes. Lyra’s father is as ruthless as they come. If he catches even a whiff of this…”
