I rolled to the side, but the blade sliced through my side, pain ripping through me like fire. Lisa shoved me off her, scrambling to her feet. Blood smeared across her dress, but she didn’t stop. She lunged for the gun. A gunshot rang out. Lisa froze. Her body went rigid. Then, slowly, she looked down.
