Every face showed the same thing—desperate hope mixed with complete doubt. Lucas's voice cut through the quiet: "Twenty-four hours, Andre. After that, we choose someone else."

[Welcome to Eternal Nightmare. Survival is victory.] The cold, robotic female voice blasted through the dark while I was sprawled on the couch doomscrolling. The next second, a white flash nuked my vision and forced my eyes shut. When I opened them again, my living room had straight-up rage quit and turned into a blood-red wasteland. "Okay, what the hell?" I squinted and spotted my six-foot-two husband, Adrian Chase, already doing the whole protective-dad thing with one arm around our son.

James The morning arrived far more quickly than was anticipated. Lilly shifted ever-so-slightly beneath me and stretched slowly in a manner that felt quite deliberate. She turned over onto her back and stared up at me with a drowsy expression on her face. She stretched out even wider after yawning quite widely and then proceeded to do so. As I rolled on top of her, I couldn't help but laugh at the sight. She asked in a sleepy voice, "What's funny?" I got down on one knee and kissed her on the cheek while looking up at her with a grin on my face. "Nothing."

I jolted awake, trembling violently as cold sweat clung to my skin. A nightmare. Only a nightmare… though Hazel remained strangely restless beneath my skin. Suddenly, the door pushed open and Dominic crossed the room in seconds, concern darkening his expression. He was beside me before I could steady my breathing, his hand closing around mine. "Are you hurt, Natalia?" "I heard you from the room beside yours.” I turned my gaze to him as I regained my composure. "I–I'm fine. It was just a nightmare," I said, brushing away strands of hair from my face.

Andrews drinking his coffee. I could still feel David's eyes staring but was too scared to look. Until I heard him snap his fingers. "Now I remember where I've seen her." he blurted. "David-" Mr. Andrews started. "Don't you-" he continued. "She's the girl that you drew from your dream Mason." David interrupted, turning to point at my boss. Who drew who now?

"Mhm.." I groan out as I feel someone running their palm against my thigh, disturbing my beautiful sleep. Wait, not only thigh but...my bare skin. I can feel it. My mind jerks up making my eyes wide open. And I sit up straight with a jerk. "What happened, butternut? Were you having a nightmare?" Asks my nightmare himself. You happened, idiot! And you are no less than my nightmare! I still manage to smile at him when all my mind is telling me to do is to stomp on his fake face and heart hard enough so that he gets absorbed into the ground...

I felt disappointed with myself. After the bindings being lifted I thought I’d feel free and empowered. But it was short lived and I just felt sad and exhausted. Brett had barely left my side and if he needed to, my parents, Jeremy, Louis or Lugh watched me. The nightmares came mainly at night where I was trying to reach Thomas down a corridor covered in smoke and flames but I could never get to him in time. I would then wake up sweating and gasping for breathe. I would then be hushed back to sleep or if Brett, cuddled. Brett walked in on Lugh cuddling me once and hit the roof. Lugh disappeared right in front of me, a trick he only seems to use when in life or death situations.

NADINE My entire sleep was riddled with nightmares of a one-eyed wolf with thinning fur snarling fiercely at me. I was too shocked to move and kept screaming until it was dragged away by a huge wolf and flung into the darkness. The nightmare kept replaying over and over and I had no idea when it stopped.

These nightmares are nothing new to me, but I didn’t share a room with anyone; this is the first time Lila has seen this happen to me. She holds me tight and coos to me, “Shhh, Maddie. It’s okay. You’re safe.” The bedroom door swings open and Lila and I both jump as Caleb stands there like a ninja, “What happened? Are you two, ok?” he asks, turning on the light and searching the room. I wipe my eyes and try to catch my breath, but the words don’t come. Lila pets my hair and looks at Caleb, “She had a nightmare.” Caleb sighs, “I get those too. The worst ones are the stuck ones.”

I was not the only one struggling to sleep at night having nightmares. We were all having nightmares. This is not life.It is prison. I woke up soaked in sweat. I had another nightmare where Liam was trying to have sex with me but his face was rotten and smelly. I don't think his body is already decomposed. I couldn't stand the smell. I tried to run away as fast as I could but he kept on appearing in front of me. I tried to scream but I failed to scream.
