“It’s okay. Breathe. You did it once, you can do it again.” “That was luck. If Sheril hadn’t been thrown in, I’d have been dead.” Victor’s lessons also saved my life. I sit against the wall and wonder how they’re all doing. My life suddenly did a one eighty and completely changed again after I’d gotten used to my father and his pack. Now I’m here. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I survived all these years. I survived a raging river as a child that killed my mother. I survived a pack that hated me and nearly killed me many times. I survived my father and stood up to him and his cruelty. I can survive this too. I must.

Once upon a time, there lived a kind cople of elders. They had a beautiful love story. They were friends since childhood and stayed by each other side till they became old. Nothing could their them apart. Not even the fact that the woman could not get pregnant. They lived happy, in a small village, covered in snow half the year. There were happy children, enough food every winter and no war, just the calm peace.

I couldn't believe my ears. Nobody knew this story about Adrian or the Castillo family at all. "My father and my mother were both shot in front of me. I got shot too but I barely survived and it was because they missed a vital spot in my body," he informed me and I had not realized it when lone tears rolled down my cheek. "You see this spot over here," he pointed at the side of his stomach. "That's where I got shot and my grandfather has made sure I survive through any means. I thought I had died but I didn't die. I woke up after a month."

Because that was what I did. I survived. Even when survival felt like dying slowly. Even when I didn’t recognize the woman in the mirror anymore. Even when carrying everything meant losing myself completely. I survived. One day. One breath. One lie at a time. Until the day I couldn’t anymore.

I’d survived a fraudulent lawsuit and public humiliation. I could survive this too. I would survive this too.
