Lori sighed and leaned on the railing, letting the ash from her joint fall onto the ground. Her black hair, with purple streaks in it, fell in her face. “I’m sorry,” I whispered, rubbing her back. “I know it sucks.” She simply shrugged. “It’s alright. It happens. I’m just feeling extra lonely tonight, that’s all.”

She pressed a kiss to Willow's brow, she was still a bit chilly but thankfully not feverish. With a groan, she pushed herself to her feet and left the room. Garin and the other two hunters were slumped near the hearth, the elder wolves watching them warily. Loriann glanced around and saw that the pack hadn't returned yet. She prayed that there were not too many casualties. With a deep breath, she walked towards Garin, who looked pale.

“How do I do that?” “Charity work. Public appearances. Act like the perfect, grieving Luna who is bravely carrying on despite the attack on her child. Make them pity you. Make them love you. And while you're doing that…” Her voice dropped. “We'll figure out how to get rid of Lori for good.” I stopped pacing. “Get rid of her? You mean…” “I mean we'll give her a reason to leave. A reason that even her precious coach can't protect her from. And if that doesn't work…” Gracie's pause was heavy with meaning. “Accidents happen all the time, Janie. Especially to pregnant Omegas.”
