I purred, my voice laced in sarcasm as I pouted my lips. “Aww... Poor, lonely Enzo.” He scowled, his deep voice cutting through the air. “Wear your damn mask.” I rolled my eyes and held my mask. It had a peacock design, with feathers affixed to the sides. Golden detailing lined the edges, giving it a delicate yet exotic look. I put it on, and it shielded my features, except for my eyes and lips. I turned to look at him. His mask was the design of a wolf, its expression a scowl just like the one he carried permanently on his face. The only covered parts of his face were his forehead and eyelids. His eyes, nose, and mouth were exposed.

Marcus asked, holding out a tray. Tonight’s mask was different. It wasn't the clinical filigree I wore in the office. This one was crafted from white gold and encrusted with tiny, raw diamonds that shimmered like frozen tears. It covered the upper half of my face, leaving my lips—painted a defiant, lethal crimson—exposed. "Tonight, we don't hide, Marcus," I whispered, watching my reflection. "Tonight, we remind them that the shadows always return to claim what is theirs."

Both elegant and mysterious, with intricate lacework curling across its surface like delicate vines, perfectly sculpted around my face, it was made for me and only me. The eyeholes, elongated and slightly angular, gave the mask an alluring sharpness, as if I could see everything without revealing anything. Around the edges, fine details emerged where subtle engravings hinted at hidden symbols, adding layers of meaning to the mask’s allure. Different phases of the moons with stars dotted around them. Utterly beautiful.

My fingers shook a little as I opened the file. Inside was a mask. A sexy black mask made of soft lace and shiny silk. It would cover the eyes and upper face but leave the mouth and jaw free. Delicate black lace patterns swirled around the eye holes like dark flowers. Small shiny crystals sparkled at the edges under the street light. Thin black ribbons waited to tie at the back of the head. It looked mysterious and dangerous. The kind of mask strippers wore when they wanted to hide their identity but show everything else.

Hasen said as he took out a box and placed it on the table. Amanda grabbed some and examined them. They are modern masquerade ball masks, some of which were white, black, or silver in color. They were embellished with sparkling glitter, side feathers, jewels, and glossy silk. There are half, full, or had handles that cover the upper part of the face. "I will go now, I—" Jin said as he stood up, but he was pushed by back Hasen and Goro. "Hey man! No fair! Have some fun as well!" Hasen pats his back and side-hugged him, "Come with us to the nightclub!"

Chapter 18: Celebration with Fury Dressed in a simple white shirt and wearing the same silk necktie, Lunar Invel had no other accessories anymore in his entire outfit except for that wristwatch that he wore back then. She’s so sweet, I wonder where she gets her charm from? “Ooo what about these?” she picks up couples masks and I can’t help but giggle at the thought ‘couple’ is that what Troy and I are? “They are pretty cute and will match my dress perfectly.” The ‘women’s’ one is a black lace mask with purple glitter etched around the eyes and what kind of looks like crescent moons, and the ‘males’ one is a simple design, black with the same purple glitter around the eyes and crescent moons.
