He said a place like this shouldn't be empty, not with the Lunar Heart buried beneath it. Laila stepped out of the truck, her silver armor gleaming in the moonlight. She felt the vibration beneath her feet, a deep, tectonic hum that was separate from the city’s tremors. The Lunar Heart was calling to her, a siren’s song of ancient power that made the hair on her arms stand up. She told Kaden that it wasn't empty. She said the house was waiting.

Chapter 11 EDEN POV The whispers began halfway through the Full Moon Faire Slash Luna Ceremony. I was on my third glass of a finely brewed wine, and I was hot from the root of my hair to the tip of my toe. The moon was as bright as it could ever be, channeling a rush of foreign energy and dumping it in my veins. I couldn’t put a finger on it. It was strange; a cross between excitement and something else that made my blood hum harmoniously inside of me. I could literally hear the blood roaring in my ears with each forceful thump of my heart.

I watched her relax and felt a pulse of gratefulness through our bond and all of a sudden whatever I had said was completely worth it. "Thank you, Jasp..." She whispered. Great Mother Moon Goddess her voice was like heaven to my ears. It was the finest melody that had been fine tuned to reach my heart and squeeze. I watched her giggle and noticed that she had been trifling in my mind a second ago. I smiled and began walking closer, "The things you do to me." I say, and she repeats what I said back to me, but with a sultry tone, "The things you do to me~" I stopped dead in my tracks and clenched my fists, if she didn't stop talking like that we would have problems. Big, hard, aching problems.

Koran whispered, his obsidian blade drawn and humming with a silver, predatory light, "The Lunar Cult doesn't use brute force, Vesper, they use the 'Tide', they pull on the gravity of the soul until it collapses." We reached the Weeping Crevasse, a jagged split in the mountain's side where ancient mineral water leaked like black tears down the walls, standing in the center of the damp cavern were three figures shrouded in robes of tattered, iridescent silk that shifted between silver and bruised purple. They weren't shifters, they were something older, Tide-Callers.

A woman’s voice…low, breathy. Elena froze. Her heart began to hammer painfully against her ribs. “No,” she whispered. “No, no, no…” She moved closer, her pulse roaring in her ears. Each step felt heavier than the last. She could hear sounds from inside - rhythmic thumping, breathless moans, a woman's laughter. Her wolf whined in pain. Elena's hand hovered over the door handle. It was unlocked. Of course it was. Damien was so confident, so sure his pathetic Luna would never confront him.

She could taste herself in ways she had never imagined. Evelyn’s eyes met his, wide, fierce, and burning. She was shaking, trembling, terrified of the fire that consumed her and yet exhilarated her all at once. The urge to act, to bite, to claim, to kiss—mixed with the instinct to strike and destroy—flooded her senses. Rowan’s voice cut through the haze, calm but firm: “The lunar triad is coming. Control it, or lose yourself.” Evelyn swallowed hard, the cabin spinning, her senses screaming in overload. Her mark flared, her wolf howling silently beneath her skin, tethered to Kael, to the forest, to the full moon rising unseen but inevitable.

The cool wind whispered through the trees, carrying with it the faintest hint of her presence. Alone once more, I stared up at the glowing moon, a strange mix of determination and uncertainty swirling within me. “I won’t let you down,” I whispered. The promise lingered in the air, carried by the moonlight as I took my first hesitant step forward into an unknown future.

Kael shouldered him hard, keeping him moving, and the whisper laughed — a dry, crackling sound like bark splitting. More names floated through the dead air. Kael. You let your first pack starve. Aria let out a choked sound, but she did not stop. Then the whisper found Lira. “Hidden Luna.” The words were intimate, as if spoken by a mouth pressed against her ear. She felt the cold breath on her fur and knew it wasn’t real, but the knowledge did nothing to stop the shiver.

Tight enough that it felt like he was trying to talk me into playing along with the act as well. And I did. To be honest, I was weirdly enjoying the kiss when Lira suddenly cleared her throat, making us break apart instantly and awkwardly. "Luna, I came to remind you of your first day in the office today as the Luna," she said softly, her voice carrying a strange elegance. I nodded, finally letting my eyes land on her. Now I could see her clearly, rather than the brief glimpse I had gotten on the sacred bonding day. She had a cold demeanor, enough to make me question how she sounded whenever she laughed. Her face held little emotion. Was there truly none, or was she simply good at hiding it?
