Dusk and Ice
Turns out I haven't become immune to cold, at least not this kind of cold.
I hugged my arms around myself but it was a useless effort. My nostrils crusted with thin layers of ice, my throat became frozen. My teeth began to chatter, my top jaw hit hard against my bottom jaw uncontrollably. When I opened my mouth, vapor poured out, white and extremely foggy.
Beside me Silver, Miles and Kayla weren't faring any better. Kayla was cold, I could tell from her grimace but she faced the cold doggedly, refusing to wrap her arms around her body. There was a look of pure anger on her face.
