No one else seemed to have missed it either as most people removed themselves from the scene. "Married? Did you not look for a ward, not a spouse?" said Magnus, and laughed again. He seemed to wait for Sidastirs proclamation that the whole thing was mischief, but he stopped laughing when he realized that it never came. He turned towards Akana and seemed to consider his next action before he bowed. "My name is Magnus Ferrum. The Son of the Consul Crassus Ferrum and bears the title warlord," he finally said with a rather polite voice, but Akana still saw mistrust in his eyes.

The entire hall cheers, banging their fists against the wooden tables. Egon Andersen steps forward next, his sharp smirk softening as he nods at me. "Magnus has carried the weight of our borders for years. Tonight, he has an equal to stand beside him. Welcome to the Silverclaw family, Stevens." Mads Andersen leans over his chalice, laughing loudly. "And here I thought Magnus forgot how to smile. Stevens, whatever spell your Moonsong music cast on him, keep doing it. He is much less likely to execute us now."

King Magnus explained to Dominic as he settled on his throne with his eyes staring directly as spoke. His eyes showed how tired he was since he had an urgent lawsuit at hand.

I settled at the head of the table, mentally preparing myself for the meeting when a knock on the door made me look up. “Come in.” The door opened and Magnus walked in, followed closely by a mountain of a man with a buzz cut, he had a serious air about him. My eyes drifted to the younger man next to him, there was something about him that reminded me of Liam. Probably the build and the hair. The man took a step forward, brushing past Magnus. “I am Nanook, Prime Adlartok's head of security. It is a pleasure to meet you, Prime Silverstone.” He said, shaking my hand.

His presence filled the space before he even spoke. “Mrs. Blackthorn,” he said smoothly, his tone refined, charming even. “I hope I’m not intruding. I do intend to come on time when it is meetings like this.” I gestured for him to sit. “Not at all. You have me at a disadvantage, though. I don’t believe we’ve met. And given your scent, I can tell that you are not from here, Alpha.” He smiled, slow and confident, the kind of smile that didn’t quite reach the eyes. “Forgive me. Alpha Lorenzo D’Amaris. But I choose to go by Mr. D’Amaris when it is amongst humans.”
