The whites had turned bloody red, veins spiderwebbing across them like cracks in glass. ‎His pupils glowed faintly, and his fingers curled inward as if they hurt. The nails at the tips had grown long and sharp... ‎Too sharp. ‎Selene’s heart stopped. Her eyes widened and her chest rose and fell in panic.

Ogali’. I pushed my glasses up my nose a bit then I sat down silently. ‘Psst!’, I heard from behind me. I didn’t turn of course. ‘Psst!’, I turned slightly and Beck Jameson was staring at me with his hazel eyes. I wasn’t scared of him like everyone else in school because minus the whole bad boy façade he is just a strangled little penguin to me.

I lifted my head to look at him and my eyes widened when it landed on his face. His eyes... His green eyes... green like an emerald. I gasped when realization dawned upon me. He clinked glasses and chatted away, so happy that he was practically floating on Cloud Nine. Hugo sat beside me, wearing that annoyingly cheeky look. "So, are you really getting divorced for me? I mean, I don't mind. You finalize the divorce in the morning, and we can get married in the afternoon. For the wedding, we can just do a destination ceremony. How about North Oropa?" I frowned, no longer having the patience to put up with his nonsense. "It's a horrible idea. Also, can you just shut up?" Just then, someone approached me. His skin took on a brown-hide hue, with a subtle luminescence that pulsed like a heartbeat. His face retained a human resemblance, but his eyes were strikingly different. They had vertical, cat-like pupils, and their emerald green irises seemed to hold a deep tint. Framing his face, a wild mane of silvery hair cascaded down to his shoulders, each strand appearing to move with a life of its own.

I looked up with my eyes wide open and used my fingers to take off the green eye contact from my eyes. I searched for the little box where I keep them on the sink and arranged both of them inside it. My eyes were burning as fuck and as I looked at the mirror, knowing I couldn’t see myself except for my eyes. It was dark and extremely blurry, and the only thing I could see through the mirror were fading white eyes. Yes, my eyes were so blank. No pupil of any sort. I had eyes which were white as snow but lifeless, with strands of blue veins around them.

Those beautiful eyes of his were registering the shock he had received and had widened to twice the size. My eyes roamed to the intruder as my hands flew to my open mouth. I found myself face-to-face with the tallest and largest man I had seen, he wasn't a man he was a beast with eyes so dense and ebony like a black hole, which had engulfed all my happiness. The icy glare had fiercely impaled me where I stood.

Water droplets from a pipe leak echo in her ears. She closes her eyes. Her body hurts like hell. The pounding pain in her skull seems to go on forever. She can move but is useless because she has been attempting to find the exit but has failed numerous times. She screams every time she hears movement from a distance. She smells her waste and pees. Even I, your Second Uncle, is quite fearful of those men you have just provoked. You're lucky to have lost only an ear." The scrawny old man's eyes glanced at the black-haired young man. He lifted his eyelids. His eyeballs were extremely horrific—they were totally white. He had no pupils in his eyes.

But something there caught my attention a bit, well, it really seemed quite strange to me, a detail that I looked at in his dark eyes. From one moment to the next, their irises went from being dark to having a brilliant green, a lively and sparkling green, a green that was not very natural or human, much less a pair of perpendicular pupils, like a cat's when they are closed due to excessive lighting. I blinked, feeling suddenly paralyzed, leaving my face any sign of smile or complacency, and soon his eyes changed again, they were no longer green with cat pupils, now they were normal pupils again, those of black eyes quite common in humans.
