This is terrifying. I know he won't reply but a part of me is still hopeful. He can't hate me so much that he would ignore my apology. So I will wait. Alice looked at the phone and then at Fasting, she couldn't tell why he was doing this or how he found out about her mother. " Answer it " Fasting urged again. " Hello ? hello ? please who is this now ? why are you calling me ? " mama shade asked in a shaky voice, she was obviously crying, " please do you know anything about my daughter ? please answer me now ? please, " Mama shade begged. Alice couldn't take anymore of hearing her mother weep over the phone, she rushed to the phone and took it from Fasting. " Hello Mama, it's me, it's me Shade, it's your shade, I am alive, mama, mama I am not dead, " Alice said happily with tears flowing down her cheeks.

The person on the other end confirmed Marlie's instructions. "Good! I hope you remember what I told you?!" Marlie exclaimed. "Yes, madam. Mrs. Baristanas left it as a package on my doorstep. I will follow your instructions," the woman assured. Marlie ended the call and placed her phone on the dressing table. She couldn't help but display a wicked smirk as she looked at herself in the mirror. ******

My phone beeps, I picked it up using a hand to control the steering wheel. It was Maren, she replied to me. Then I have this strange feeling in me. I was happy she replied. MAREN Fine. I was so busy packing things up for renovations that I didn't even hear my notifications. How is your day too? Using one hand I replied to her text. ME My day was great. You could have told me, I could have helped with the packing. MAREN I don't want to bother you at all and Rylee helped too.

He was hoping to hear an assurance of no further contact with Kristopher. Gazing at her, he grasped her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Are you bargaining with me, Renee?" “No, I'm trying to reason with you," she replied. Marcelo let out a snort at Renee’s words. She was reasoning with him? It was just smooth talking. He pulled out his phone and showed her some messages. They were all from Vivian. She sent messages nearly every day, about the small, everyday things. Sometimes, she shared exciting encounters from her day, and other times, the challenges she faced.

Marlene nodded and continued to gently stroke Jane's belly, her eyes filled with wonder. "Thank God, you’re back. Rachel's eyes widened as she looked up from her phone, a mix of relief and excitement evident on her face. "I've been waiting for you to get back! I can't believe I almost missed my date," she exclaimed, quickly getting up from the couch to grab her coat. "Hi Jane, good to see you. Sorry, I have to run, but tomorrow I have something very important to say to you. Bye, or I will miss my hot date today. Rachel picked up her purse, running but revered her way back, kissing Marlene's cheeks and hugging Jane.

She paused momentarily, then added cautiously, “That's why I want to make amends to you.” Narsha blinked slowly. “Is this about Gaby that you said I need to know?” Marlene nodded slowly. Her hand slowly withdrew from Narsha's grasp, then reached into the small bag on her lap. She took out a white envelope, as if it contained something that should not be opened. “Luna...” her voice was almost a whisper, “it seems my daughter is not done with the problems she brought upon herself.” She pushed the envelope toward Narsha. Narsha accepted the envelope silently. She opened it slowly, tracing the folds of the paper with her fingertips before pulling out its contents.

But she'd felt what my body did in the seconds after, and whatever that was, it had knocked something loose in her too. She reached into her jacket, pulled out an encrypted satellite phone, and turned her back to me. Her fingers weren't quite steady as she dialed. The line clicked open instantly. Maren didn't wait for a greeting. She kept her eyes fixed on the cracked mats beneath her feet and said two words. "She's ready."

After Malcolm walked her home, Margaret closed the door and let out a sigh of relief. But her relief was short-lived. Eloise's message popped up on her phone, and her heart sank. [Marjorie is missing!]

His gaze shifted between us, and the longer he stared the more his expression darkened. “Rome…” Marlene tried to say. “I see” Just those two words and then, he turned and walked out. “I am a terrible fucking person aren’t I?” Marlene asked fresh tears in her eyes. I shook my head quickly wiping off her tears “no babe… you are not bad, it was just a mistake” I said. She just kept on crying. “Marlene,” I said, already knowing the only way that this could be fixed “Go after him. Please.”
