It hit me out of nowhere——a sharp, crushing pain in my chest that stole the air from my lungs. "Mommy, what's wrong?" Luca's voice cut through the haze. My three-year-old was sitting right there, eyes wide and terrified. I tried to smile, keep it together for him, but it felt fake even to me. I wanted to reach out, ruffle his messy hair, but my arm? Useless. Like it didn't belong to me anymore.

“It feels like I’m on my own.” The words lingered in the air. Heavy. Lonely. Real. Because that was exactly what it felt like. No one was truly on my side. Not really. Not anymore. And I was getting tired. So tired. My body felt weaker than before. Every day. Every moment. Like something inside me was slowly giving up. “I can’t…” I whispered. “I can’t keep doing this…” A sharp wave of discomfort passed through me, forcing me to close my eyes for a moment.

I asked if they had a meeting, I mean him and Dante but she said she didn’t know at this point. So, yeah. I am down, my heart aches and I feel as miserable as sin. In fact, I feel like I can’t catch my breath half the time and like someone has literally punched me in the gut. The silence is deafening and leaves me physically in pain. “I’m fine, just some personal issues. That is all.”

His arm was wrapped around my waist, and I could feel his breath against the back of my neck. I groaned quietly, running a hand through my messy hair. “I feel like absolute shit,” I murmured, lifting my head slightly. The exhaustion, the dizziness, and the weird queasy feeling in my stomach, it wasn’t normal. Maybe it’s just a virus, I thought. I’ll find out after my 1:00 appointment, though. Knox stirred beneath me, rubbing my back gently. "What’s wrong, baby?" “Just tired,” I said, sinking back into him. “But I’ll be fine after the doctor’s visit.”

It's Thursday today, and I gave up being normal two weeks ago. I would say it wasn't working, but the truth is, lately, I can not seem to muster the strength to do anything. It's like I am seeing the world through fogged glasses. I feel disconnected from everything and everyone. I just want to go home and lay down.

He'd probably been up for hours, handling pack business, dealing with the fallout from yesterday. *Zoey?* I called inwardly. *Are you okay?* A warm presence stirred in my mind. *I'm good. Strong. Better than I've been in years, actually. * A pause. *Can't say the same for you, though. * I didn't answer right away. I just stared at the ceiling, feeling the weight of yesterday pressing down on me. *Olivia?* *Honestly I don't feel good, * I admitted finally. *Not after what we watched yesterday.*

“How do you feel right now?” I lie in silence thinking about his question. “My chest hurts, and I feel like I could use a good bath. But- I’m so relieved that she didn’t find us…” I replied looking down at the orchid blood-stained dress with a frown. “I still feel tired though. Why didn’t I reset like usual? The last couple of times I felt good as new… But not this time…” I frowned in aggravation. Damn! This is really starting to get on my nerves.

I call out. Jennifer returns to the room. "Did you need something else?" I force a smile, trying to mask my unease. "I am suddenly not feeling very hungry right now. Thanks for breakfast, though." Jennifer frowns, her concern evident in her eyes. "Are you feeling sick? Should I call a doctor?" I shake my head, not wanting to cause any alarm. "No, no, I'll be fine. Probably just a little bug or something." She doesn't look convinced, but she nods understandingly. "What's wrong?"

Dustin said, not minding his words. That’s it, I think. He does not love me. So why would he care about my feelings, right? “Hush, everything will be fine soon.” He said in a soothing voice. I haven’t done anything in the past few days but wait for him. With each passing day I feel weaker. Add to that that I feel bad, I constantly vomit and often feel dizzy. I don’t have a fever. But maybe because of the stress I’m experiencing, my body is giving up.

Truly, I miss him. "Yeah. I'm doing well now." I say through tight lips. Not happy "So what's up? You sound really off. Are you okay?" I almost forgot I'm not doing okay. "I don't feel too good." "What's wrong with ya?" I sigh, and lay on my stomach. "I've been feeling too tired of recent. I can't even eat because my sandwich smells, and I feel too dizzy. I over slept at work today." She didn't say anything for a while. I am starting to get scared.
