It poured, and she could not stop it. She walked out the farmhouse, closing the door behind her. She crouched, and she started whimpering like a little girl. It was stealing the silence of the night. And then a shadow walked to her from the dark. Mathilda looked up, and she saw a handkerchief in front of her. And then Gabriel spoke, “You look ugly when you cry.”

Tania's POV As I emerged from the dark confines of the dungeon, Matilda's frail form leaned heavily against me. Her face was pale, etched with exhaustion and the torment she had endured during her captivity. With each step, I supported her, guiding her towards the haven of safety that awaited us—the Pack's house. The journey seemed endless, the weight of responsibility resting upon my shoulders. Matilda's breathing was labored, a testament to her weakened state. Yet, determination fueled my every stride. The Pack's house was our destination, a sanctuary where Matilda could receive the care and support she desperately needed.

"I'm sorry, honey. You shouldn't have to do this. I'm the one who should be working, not you." "It's okay, I'm happy to help mom. That way I can ease your burden at least for my school fees later." Emily was touched to hear it, she was proud to have a daughter like Sophia. "Emily, your daughter is really lucky. She's only been working for two days, and she's already been appointed as a personal maid. I think Mr. Oliver likes her." Elina whispered to Emily. As for Sophia, the girl was now busy playing with the clown fish in Elina's small aquarium. Apparently Elina had a small pet in her room that she had just bought yesterday and Sophia called the fish Nemo.

GIDEON VALE I can’t get her out of my mind. She’s turning my carefully built world upside down and it’s fucking annoying. I’m slipping up. I don’t ever slip up. I couldn’t afford it. The thought doesn’t come once. It loops. It presses. But when Matilda ran out, she took the bottle if liquor infront of her and after gulping down a huge quantity of it, she threw it to the wall and the bottle made a shattering sound, breaking into pieces. Lauren growled again in rage, she was loosing her mind. All she ever did was love Ron Diego and for what? To be dumped and replaced by Sarah Waves? Of course not, she was not going to allow it. This wasn't over yet, she was going to fight, she was going to squash the both of them like bugs. *

The realization tasted bitter on my tongue. A sharp, collective gasp cut through my words. I turned my head, squinting through the confusion that clouded my thoughts. Matilda stared at Jaxx, her face drained of every drop of color, her mouth working silently like a fish gasping for water. She looked as if she'd seen a ghost, or perhaps something worse. A demon. Something that had crawled out of her worst nightmares and taken human form. Her hand clutched at her throat, fingers trembling against her pearl necklace, the one she'd touched while delivering her crocodile tears, dabbing at dry eyes with a monogrammed handkerchief.

"I hope Matilda learns from what happened. It's sad to see her embarrassed like that, but maybe it's what she needs to straighten up," Maine said to Demi. "Yeah, I hope so too. But you all need to be careful, especially you, Maine. Matilda can be cunning; who knows what she might do next," Amethyst warned her. "I'll always be cautious. Besides, she doesn't have much power left to boss anyone around," she replied. "Did you see her face earlier? She looked like she'd seen a ghost! And dragging her man into it too, the nerve," Sandro chimed in, taking a sip of his juice.

Damn this mate bond. "I'm done with you," I snapped, my eyes blazing. "I don't need you, James." "Emily, I'm about to become Alpha," he said, waiting for me to relent. "Being my mistress is your best choice. Your mother's life is at stake." He turned to leave, adding, "You'll come around. Your mother can't wait." "I don't need it!" I screamed after him, collapsing, tears streaming down my face. Was there no escape? Would I watch my mother suffer?

Her golden eyes burned with warning, a flash of restrained fury flickering behind them, but Matilda only laughed softly, the sound smooth and poisonous. She stepped closer, close enough that Olinda could smell her perfume—sharp and floral, like crushed roses left to rot. “You always hide behind rules,” Matilda said, voice low. “Behind your little codes of peace. It’s almost funny.” Olinda didn’t respond, though her hand tightened around the edge of the table. She counted her breaths, one after another, forcing calm. Matilda wanted a reaction. She always did. “Don’t you think Agatha looks familiar?” Matilda asked suddenly, her tone light again, as if she hadn’t just been circling her like a w

I kept on repeating. I heard the door creak behind me and I quickly turned to look in the direction. “My Alpha you sent for me,” Lucas says as he bows in courtesy. “ Yes Lucas,” I leaned close to him and reduced my voice to a whisper,“ I heard my mate is missing, and a search party is already after her, I want you to alter their process.” Lucas raised his head up slowly, he fixed an awkward stare on me making me wonder if I had lost my mind.
