It didn't take them up to a minute to beat all five men up. Matt is not an ordinary assistant, he is someone skilled enough to be his personal bodyguard. This is why he is always close to Jared. Tiffany’s POV Matthew just dropped a bomb in the room, and we held our breaths waiting for his next words. “Your ex-husband Chris is the one who killed me.” He said finally. I sat there in shock. Chris? I watched as my father sputtered angrily, “that fucking bastard!” I turned to Matty, “Matty, I’m so sorry.” He smiled wryly at me, “I’m sorry, Tiffany. I didn’t want to burden you with the information, but I thought you should know since he may come after me again.”

, said Matt with a shrug. I felt her colour a bit from embarrassment. I smiled at her compassionately. Matt can always cut you where it hurts the most. She was rumored to be sleeping with one of our directors. It was Dave I believe. She was desparate. She wasn't a talented model but there wasn't any two questions about her acting capabilities. Everyone has their strengths.

“Aw, I know lovey, leaving your friends behind is hard, isn’t it?” Then she’s gone again. Rafael’s arm twitches. “Ow! Fuck!” Matteo hisses and he starts to rub his leg. “What’s wrong?” I ask, speaking for the first time. “My leg. Feels like a muscle cramp.” “Hm,” Rafael says and finally puts his right hand on the table. It’s empty. “That would be the ricin.” “The what?” Matteo asks.

"Mind telling me what happened to my childhood friend, Matthew?" He flinched at the name, his orange eyes glistening. "Your Matthew was betrayed by the world and killed himself. The one in front of you now, is Rio Trafaller, the hitman," he said with a voice so cold and stiff. Matthew... I pitifully gazed at him. Matt was a friend I made before my life went upside down, too. Back when my family was complete and I lived a normal life in Manhattan. Matt and his family were our next-door neighbors so we immediately became friends. We hung out every day, came to school and went home together, and were content with our simple lives. We both didn't have siblings so we treated each other as one.

He finally found the voice to speak. “Uncle Ryan,” Matt called out. A deep fake smile stretched on his lips. “It's been a while, I had no idea that you would be able to make it here today..” Ryan didn't budge or respond to his nephew's greetings. He waited until Matt walked to stand before him. “I see you haven't progressed since the last time I saw you. I also heard about the death of your wife, it seems she couldn't keep up with your behavior so she committed suicide..” Ryan paused. “That's pretty nasty” he continued.

I freeze the moment I see Matt—and some of the other bikers I saw at the funeral. My pulse hammers, heat creeping up my face. “Come on,” Ripper urges. I step in slowly, my heart racing under the weight of their cold stares. “Sit there,” he says, pointing to the chair Matt has been sitting in. My gaze follows. Matt leans back in the scarred wooden chair, his eyes shifting from me to Ripper. Then he lets out a deep sigh before standing and moving aside for me. Wasting no time, I settle into the chair and exhale slowly.
